Company-wide, <strong>Dot</strong> gave out$140,000 <strong>in</strong> prizes to 36 warehouse personnel, drivers and support staff to celebrate the milestone. <strong>Dot</strong> also paid thetaxes on the prizes.More than 2,300 employees were eligible to participate <strong>in</strong> the safety <strong>in</strong>centive program, which was divided <strong>in</strong>to twoprogram categories. Warehouse and support personnel were required to have worked at least 1,000 hours <strong>in</strong> 2009,have no written discipl<strong>in</strong>ary action and no OSHA recordable <strong>in</strong>juries, while drivers also had to meet a m<strong>in</strong>imumearn<strong>in</strong>g requirement and have no motor vehicle accidents.Warehouse order selector Evers of Ardmore was thewarehouse w<strong>in</strong>ner, receiv<strong>in</strong>g an <strong>ATV</strong>.Driver Shawn Gardner of Ardmore received a highdef<strong>in</strong>itionTV <strong>in</strong> the driver program. Accord<strong>in</strong>g to Don Pierce, employee safety manager, “There were fewer OSHA
ecordable <strong>in</strong>juries per 100 employees <strong>in</strong> 2009 than any year <strong>in</strong> <strong>Dot</strong>’s history.
