They will be playing a selection of some of the best songs to come out of the Motown era, featuring the music of Smokey Robinson, Martha and The Vandellas, Gladys Knight, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Jackson 5 and of course Stevie Wonder. Joining her on stage will be her fantastic 10 piece band featuring 3 other vocalists, Vula, Sharlene Hector and Brendan Reilly, who regularly bring the house down at the monthly Soul Family Sundays sessions. Featuring King Pleasure on vocals and baritone saxophone, Boysy Battrum alto and tenor saxophones, Mighty Matt Foundling on piano, Bullmoose K. LIANE CARROLL & GEORGINA JACKSON Led by saxophonist Pete Long, the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra features some of the UK’s finest musicians and as the most recent incarnation of the clubs very own big band they uphold the clubs tradition of only presenting the very best musicians and music. For these very special festive shows the RSJO will be playing classic big band tunes: the perfect soundtrack to the festive celebrations with superbly talented trumpeter/vocalist Jackson and world class pianist and singer Carroll. TUES 11TH - WED 12TH: (2 Performances per night, Doors 5.30pm & 9.30pm / £25.00 - £40.00) RAY CHARLES PROJECT FEAT. JEREMY SASSOON Jeremy Sassoon (voc/kybd), Mike Walker (gtr), Richard Hammond (bs), Mike Smith (dms) , Ian Dixon (ten sx), Tom Richards (alt sax), Danny Marsden (tpt), Barnaby Dickinson (trb), Annabel Williams, LaDonna Harley-Peters & Tor Hills (bc voc). Manchester-based jazz & blues singer/pianist Jeremy Sassoon returns to Ronnie Scott’s following his memorable sell-out debut at the club this summer, and once again he brings a stunning line-up of musicians comprising London and Manchester’s finest. The band has received rapturous responses wherever it has performed. The show features a fourpiece horn section, three backing singers and has a mix of well-known Ray Charles classics (Georgia, What I’d Say) and lesser known gems from the late great ‘Brother Ray’ (The Jealous Kind, This Little Girl of Mine).
