POULDING AND CLARK: EFFICIENT SOFTWARE VERIFICATION: STATISTICAL TESTING USING AUTOMATED SEARCH 777Simon Poulding received the BSc degree inmathematics and the MSc degree in mathematicswith modern applications from the Universityof York in 1989 and 2006, respectively.From 1989 to 2005, he was a software engineerin the financial and healthcare industries, specializingin enterprise management systems anddatabase applications. He is currently a lecturerin the Department of Computer Science, Universityof York. His research interests includethe scalability and robustness of search-based software engineeringalgorithms and the use of reliable and efficient empirical methods incomputer science.John A. Clark received the MA degree inmathematics and the MSc degree in appliedstatistics from the University of Oxford in 1985and 1986, respectively, and the PhD degree incomputer science from the University of York in2002. After industrial experience in securityresearch and development, he joined the Departmentof Computer Science, University ofYork, as a CSE lecturer in safety-critical systems.He is currently a professor of criticalsystems at York, where he leads a team of researchers working onsoftware engineering and security. He has a particular interest inoptimization-based approaches to applications from both of these fields..
