SMTP Commands ExitThe SMTP server can be configured to call an exit routine whenever certain SMTP commands arereceived, through use of the SMTP commands exit. This exit can be defined such that is invoked for anyor all the commands that follow.Notes:1. The person responsible for creating or maintaining programs that exploit this capability should beknowledgeable of the protocol(s) related to the SMTP commands that are processed using this exit.2. Only one SMTP commands exit can be active at a time.HELO The SMTP 'HELO' command.MAILRCPTThe SMTP 'MAIL FROM:' command.The SMTP 'RCPT TO:' command.DATA The SMTP 'DATA' command.EODVRFYEXPNRSETThe end of data condition. This occurs when a period is received by the server, usually after alldata has been transmitted.The SMTP 'VRFY ' command.The SMTP 'EXPN ' command.The SMTP 'RSET ' command.PUNCH The point in time when the server is about to deliver mail to a local destination on the same nodeor RSCS network; this command is unique to the VM TCP/IP SMTP server.The changes associated with this exit add the following configuration statements, commands, andsamples: SMTPCMDS statement for the SMTP configuration file (SMTP CONFIG) SMSG SMTPCMDS command REXX and assembler sample exits.This exit can be used to perform the following function, plus others you may deem useful in yourenvironment: Reject particular commands; for example, you may not want your server to support the VRFY andEXPN commands.
