Its key features include36 full-duplex communication and fourwireports in a 1RU frame. Two framescan also be joined to form a high-speed,linked 64-port system with failsaferedundancy. The Eclipse PiCo offersleading-edge digital processing: 24 bits,48kHz and power supply redundancy arefitted as standard. The Eclipse Median is a new, midsizedsystem that cleverly combines thematrix platform and interface frame tomeet the confined space demands of OBvehicles and mobile flight case systems—anywhererack space is at a premium. It has capacity for up to 112 portsand interfaces for fiber or telephone andfour-wire connectors. The Median hasdual CPU and PSU redundancy and UL,CE and PSE (JP) approvals. Finally, the Eclipse Omega offers thehighest port density of any available system. It is ideal for studio system use andcapable of serving large-scale venues suchas multiple theater sites and national sportsstadiums. IP connectivity means systemscan be linked across cities or even countries. The Omega features an advanceddigital matrix frame with 240 ports in only6RU frames. It is expandable as well; up to127 frames can be joined into one nonblocking1302-port matrix system. TheOmega boasts comprehensive interfacingfunctionality with other matrix systemsand full redundancy backup. The Eclipse systems are supportedwith Eclipse Configuration Softwareinterface (ECS). Visual and intuitive,ECS features frame and panel graphics, and can focus on and control labels andfunctions for individual panel buttons.Drop-down menus access features suchas label assignments, interfacing, DTMFaccess and key functions. ECS also hasmulti-language capability.IAC’S ACCUTONE2 BROADCASTSERIES OFFERS DIGS FOR EVERY GIGFrom hip-hop to voiceover, broadcastand recording applications, IACAmerica’s Accutone2 Broadcast SeriesSound Control Environments are customengineeredto provide greater low-endisolation along with combined absorption/diffusionfor improved sound quality. They also feature faster, cleaner constructionand have the look and feel oftraditional materials.“IAC AccuTone2 is available in fiveisolation levels and standard sizes,” saysKen DeLasho, President of IACAmerica. “More importantly, IAC’sTECH-DRIVEN MCL PROVIDESIN-HOUSE EXPERTISE, WORLDWIDETECHNICAL SUPPORTWith its modern, state-of-the-art engineeringand manufacturing facility, MCLcontinues to create new products with theaid of its parent company, MITEQ, a recognizedleader in quality and technology. Thanks to a continuous investmentin technology development, the MCLproduct line continues to grow in scopeand sophistication. The company’s newlydeveloped products have demonstratedquality and reliability, having performedin the most difficult environments.Accutone2 can be constructed in any sizeand shape. The AccuTone2 experiencehas been fine-tuned to address today’s‘quick’ build-out and qualifies for acceleratedtax advantages [IRSr75-178].”Studio designers and consultants worldwideagree that the IAC-engineered systemis among the lightest, most efficientconstruction options available.IAC Accutone2 Environments featurethe look and feel of traditional constructionand offer a variety of fabrics, carpets, woods, steel finishes and colorsfor all applications. Studio designers canContinued expansion of engineeringand manufacturing capability, coupledwith the infusion of MITEQ’s specializedtechnical expertise, has provided MCLwith the essentials to evolve at a very fastrate, as required by the changing needs ofthe satellite communications industry. This allows MCL to not only meetincreased customer demands for itsamplifiers, but also to bring in-house severaloperations that were previously outsourced.Obvious benefits have includedtransform the lightweight, space-saving,high transmission loss “shell” using theirown combinations of absorption, diffusion, skylines, traps and clouds to definetheir “signature” space for broadcast, recording, listening, control, voiceoverand audio postproduction facilities aslarge as a soundstage. Most Accutone2 facilities aredesigned and installed within eightweeks. System components are fabricatedduring the demolition phase of the constructionprocess and are installed afterthe mechanical/electrical systems, withoutthe mess of traditional construction.IAC Accutone2 is designed and engineeredcomplete with acoustic performance–matchedNoise-Lock components, including doors, windows, Quiet-Duct ventilation,Accutone2 treatment panels andisolated floors. All IAC America’s Noise-Lock components are fully factory-assembledand tested prior to shipment for guaranteedin-field noise reduction. All can beused independently to “improve” a new orexisting traditional acoustic environment.Noise-Lock doors are available insingle-, double- and multi-leaf designs, featuring full-vision glass with soundcontrol properties as high as STC 55.They are UL fire-rated and ADAcompliant. All IAC products are pretestedin the NVLAP-accredited IAC Aero-Acoustic Laboratory, and are guaranteedfor high in-field noise reduction. For more information, call 718-931-8000, visit www.industrialacoustics.comor stop by booth N21-31.greater product quality control anddecreased product costs.MCL’s facility has more than 124,000square feet of space, helping the companymeet the challenges of today’s market andbetter serve the satellite communicationscommunity. A solid strategic partnershipwith MITEQ has yielded the expectedinherent benefits to customers. Over thenext several years, MCL customers willcontinue to witness changes—in bothproduct offerings and service programs—that will better meet ever-changing needs.MCL’s service department is alsocontinuously evaluating and improvingits methods to achieve even higher levelsof customer satisfaction. We pride ourselves onbeing the first with products that addressmarket needs largely ignored by others inthe industry. We were the only company inour class that won the AIM award last yearat NAB for introducing the first portableHD transmitter for handheld camera use.BSD: What is your hottest product at thisyear’s show?SN: This year we are introducing our“transition” product, the CML ConfigurableMessenger Link. It will serve tobridge the industry transition from SD toHD wireless video links. This product can be purchased now asSD-only and upgraded to HD later, orpurchased with both formats installed, enabling selectable SD/HD operation.BSD: How are you addressing the 2GHzBAS relocation project?SN: We are a qualified vendor for theSprint/Nextel BAS relocation project. We are aware that an estimated 20,000links will need replacement in the nextthree years. With our current manufactur-ing process, we are capable of volumedelivery of up to 300 links per month.BSD: Why should a BAS customer selectyour product over your competitors?SN: GMS’ advantage is obvious. Currently,we are the only manufacture that offers aflexible wireless link that is capable of operatingin both SD and HD formats. AlthoughHD is not a requirement for news coveragetoday, it will be within a few years. The TV transmission industry in the U.S.opted to transition from AM transmissionto HDTV, skipping over DTV. We feelthat the BAS customer would seriouslyconsider doing the same, or at least purchasehardware that can easily be upgradedto HD when they are ready for it.BSD: What other products do you offer?SN: We offer a unique six-antennadiversity system that includes the MSRMessenger Smart Receiver and theMAA Messenger Antenna Array. Withthe aide of this receiving system, wehave covered up to 100 miles LOS,eliminating the need for expensiveauto-tracking pedestals. We also offer a 4K or 6K carrier option onour digital link that will increase our datathroughput capacity by two or three times, respectively. In other words, the user willhave the choice of increasing the datathroughput to 90Mbps for studio events orselecting 24Mbps for long-range HD videoideal for ENG applications covering up to100 miles distance.BSD: How can our readers learn more?SN: Just visit www.gmsinc.com.
