BurcharthDepartment <strong>of</strong> Civil Engineering, Aalborg University, DenmarkSince 1961 worked with research and consulting in the fields <strong>of</strong> Port and Coastal Engineering andHydraulics.After 9 years in Copenhagen, working with research and teaching at the Technical University <strong>of</strong>Denmark and at the same time running own consulting engineering company, I went as pr<strong>of</strong>essor inHydraulics and Maritime Civil Engineering to Aalborg to help starting a new technical university.In Aalborg I designed and built the Hydraulics and Coastal Engineering Laboratory which today hastwo basins for 3-D waves, two wave flumes and three channels, fully equipment with advancedsystems for wave generation and analyses.
