Product Product Data DataDescriptionCastrol Molub-Alloy ® 958 SF Multiservice LubricantCastrol Molub-Alloy ® 958 SF Multiservice Lubricant is a heavy duty lubricant formulated for multiservice, all-season applicationsan large draglines, shovels, drills, and mill applications. 958 SF Multiservice Lubricant is used in the most severe environmentin these applications:Open Gears - Racks & Pinions - Dipper Sticks - Rails & Rollers - Large Journal Bearings -Large Slow Speed Antifriction BearingsCastrol Molub-Alloy ® 958 SF may be used in both raw and finish mill operations, such as those found in cement, copper, andphosphate mills, and in either ball or rod mills. In large earth excavators overlubrication of large swing bearings often causesthe grease to drip onto gears and compromises the tough and heavy duty film of the open gear lubricant. This potentialproblem led equipment manufacturers and mine operators to demand a single lubricant to serve various applications an theirmachines. For this reason, Castrol Molub-Alloy ® 958 SF was developed. Multiservice lubricants offer an additional benefit tooperators by reducing the number of lubricants required aboard each machine and the potential for misapplication.Formulated to address environmental concerns Castrol Molub-Alloy ® 958 SF is free of lead, antimony, barium, and chlorinatedsolvents. No solvents of any kind are used in Castrol Molub-Alloy ® 958 SF.The synthetic and mineral oils used in 958 SF are selected for their physical and chemical stability and for their exceptionalserviceability over a wide temperature range. These fluids are compounded to flow readily in the filmforming process, yet resist"squeeze out" and cling tenaceously even to gear teeth that mesh vertically.A proprietary blend of Molub-Alloy ® lubricating solids of select grade and size distribution promote antiwear and load-carryingproperties beyond the capacity of conventional lubricants. Molub-Alloy ® lubricating solids also contribute to the structure of thefilm and its semi-dry surface which is exceptionally resistant to dust and dirt.Applications• Castrol Molub-Alloy ® 958 SF may be used from - 20 °C to + 90 °C. This is a general guideline and may be altered dependingan the application and conditions.• Castrol Molub-Alloy® 958 SF is particularly suitable for service in the most severe conditions of dust, as found in open pitmining and cement mills. Castrol Molub-Alloy® 958 SF is designed to resist packing or hardening in the roots of gear teeth andin semi-enclosed gearcases. Castrol Molub-Alloy® 958 SF also minimizes the adherence of dust, which usually causeslubricant "peeling" off the sticks of shovels.• Careful attention has been paid to the needs of large roller bearings to protect against extreme pressures and shock loads andto provide sufficient film thickness to extend bearing life before fatigue.Advantages• Superior film endurance - resists erosion from rain and sleet: resists peeling in dusty operations.• Resists packing with dust - doesn't harden in gear tooth roots and facilitates easy removal from semi-enclosed gearcases.• Multiservice - can be used for open gear and bearing applications an many draglines, shovels, drills, and mills (see notes).Reduces product inventory, and minimizes the risk of contamination or misapplication.• All-Season - can be used year-round for the climate range encountered.• Castrol Molub-Alloy® 958 SF meets the requirement of: P & H, Spec. 464, P & H, Spec. 472 B, Demag Komatsu, 01159799,Bucyrus-Erie, MPG X-2618, Bucyrus-Erie, OG X-2642Molub-Alloy 958 SF23.10.2006Castrol Molub-Alloy 958 SF and Castrol logo are trademarks of Castrol Limited, used under licence.Die technischen Daten sind Durchschnittswerte, die jedoch innerhalb der festgelegten Spezifikation liegen.Diese Angaben entsprechen umfangreichen Prüfungen und Praxiserfahrungen.
