The MRS scores <strong>of</strong> womenwere <strong>in</strong>versely correlated with Physical Health,Psychological well-be<strong>in</strong>g, Social Relationshipdoma<strong>in</strong>s <strong>of</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> life. Educational level, menopausalknowledge, participation <strong>in</strong> decision-mak<strong>in</strong>g<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> family and economic status positively affectedmost doma<strong>in</strong>s <strong>of</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> life, whereas be<strong>in</strong>gmarried and hav<strong>in</strong>g high BMI scores had negativeeffects.Conclusion: In climacteric women, quality <strong>of</strong>life was negatively affected by <strong>the</strong> severity <strong>of</strong>menopausal symptoms, low education level,limited menopausal knowledge, and be<strong>in</strong>g overweight.Key words: <strong>Quality</strong> <strong>of</strong> life; menopause; climacteric; MRS;WHOQOL-BREF.Amaç: Bu çalışmadaki amacımız, <strong>Manisa</strong> ve çevres<strong>in</strong>deyaşayan klimakterik dönemdeki kadınlardayaşam kalitesi ve menopoza ilişk<strong>in</strong> semptomlarınşiddet<strong>in</strong>e etki eden faktörleri belirlemektir.Hastalar ve Yöntemler: Araştırmanın örneklemievreni belli örneklem seçim yöntemi ile 268 klimakterikdönem kadın (ort. yaş 50.7±6.6; dağılım40-60) olarak belirlendi. Veriler<strong>in</strong> toplanmasındasosyo-demografik soruların bulunduğu anketformu, Menopoz Semptomlarını DeğerlendirmeÖlçeği (MRS) ve Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği (WHOQOL-BREF-TR) kullanıldı.Bulgular: Kadınların yaklaşık 1/3’ü menopozailişk<strong>in</strong> bilgiler<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong> olmadığını belirttiler. MRS skoruile yaşam kalitesi alan puanları karşılaştırıldığında,MRS skoru ile bedensel, ruhsal ve sosyal alanlardaistatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulundu. Kadınlarıneğitim durumu, menopoza ilişk<strong>in</strong> bilgileri, ailedekikararlara katılma ve ekonomik durumu yaşamkaliteler<strong>in</strong>i olumlu etkilemekte, evli ve yüksek vücutkitle <strong>in</strong>deksi skoru olan kadınlarda ise yaşam kalitesiolumsuz etkilenmekte idi.Sonuç: Klimakterik dönemdeki kadınlarda, menopozalsemptomların şiddeti, eğitim düzeyler<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>düşüklüğü, menopoza ilişk<strong>in</strong> bilgiler<strong>in</strong> sınırlı olmasıve kilolu olunması yaşam kalites<strong>in</strong>i olumsuz etkilemektedir.Anahtar sözcükler: Yaşam kalitesi; menopoz; klimakterik;MRS; WHOQOL-BREF.Presented at <strong>the</strong> 8th Uludağ W<strong>in</strong>ter Congress on Obstetrics and Gynecology, January 17-21, 2007, Bursa, Turkey (8.
