TheCommission on Higher Education is an accreditingagency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Educationand the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.Programs at the college are approved by the PennsylvaniaState Department of Education for veteran’s educationalbenefits. In addition, the following programs carryspecific accreditation/approval by certifying/accreditationorganizations:• The associate in applied science degree Baking andPastry program, Culinary Arts programs and Restaurant/CulinaryManagement program are accreditedby the American Culinary Federation EducationFoundation Accrediting Commission (ACFEFAC), aspecialized accrediting agency recognized by theCouncil on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).• The Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programsare accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditationof the American Dental Association, a specializedaccrediting agency recognized by the U.S.Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher EducationAccreditation.• The diploma in Medical Assisting, Youngwoodcampus , is accredited by the Commission on Accreditationof Allied Health Education Programs(www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of theMedical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB).Commission on Accreditation of Allied HealthEducation Programs, 1361 Park Street, Clearwater,FL, 727-210-2350.• The Practical Nursing Diploma Program is fullyapproved and the Associate Degree Nursing Programis on provisional approval status by the PennsylvaniaState Board of Nursing. The Associate Degree Nursingprogram is accredited by the National League for NursingAccrediting Commission, 61 Broadway, 33rd Floor,New York, NY 1006, 800-669-1656, www.nlnac.org -for achievement of quality and excellence in nursingeducation.This catalog reflects the most current information about<strong>Westmoreland</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> and does notconstitute a contract between the student(s) and WCCC.The college reserves the right to amend any provisionsor requirements at any time.
