PUBLIC MEETINGNOTICE OF MEETINGYou are invited to attend a Public Meeting to be held by the Development Services Committee <strong>of</strong>the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Markham</strong> to consider an application by <strong>EMK</strong> <strong>Construction</strong> <strong>Limited</strong> and Treelawn<strong>Construction</strong> Ltd. for a proposed draft plan <strong>of</strong> subdivision and zoning by-law amendment.DATE: Tuesday, October 2, 2007TIME:PLACE:7:00 p.m.Council ChambersAnthony Roman Centre101 <strong>Town</strong> Centre Boulevard<strong>Markham</strong>, Ontario, L3R 9W3BACKGROUNDThe 14.02 hectare (34.64 ac) subject lands, municipally known as 10519 and 10521 WoodbineAvenue, are located on the east side <strong>of</strong> Woodbine Avenue, south <strong>of</strong> Elgin Mills Road, within theEast Cathedral Community. The subject lands contain two heritage buildings that are proposedto be preserved in situ.PROPOSALThe applicant is proposing to amend the zoning by-law to permit a draft plan <strong>of</strong> subdivisioncomprising 210 single detached units and a 0.74 hectare (1.8 ac) park block.. The 0.21 hectare(0.30 ac) lots located at the north end <strong>of</strong> the draft plan <strong>of</strong> subdivision will provide a transition tothe rural residential lots adjacent to the north.PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTThe purpose <strong>of</strong> the proposed amendments is to delete the lands from the Agriculture One (A1)zone <strong>of</strong> By-law 304-87 and incorporate it into appropriate residential zone categories within Bylaw177-96, as amended. The effect would be to implement the draft plan <strong>of</strong> subdivision.NOTE REGARDING PLAN OF SUBDIVISIONIf a person or public body that files an appeal <strong>of</strong> a decision <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Markham</strong>, in respect<strong>of</strong> the proposed plan <strong>of</strong> subdivision, does not make oral submissions at the public meeting ormake written submissions to the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Markham</strong> before the proposed plan <strong>of</strong> subdivision isapproved or refused, the Ontario Municipal Board may dismiss the appeal.If you wish to be notified <strong>of</strong> the decision <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Markham</strong> in respect <strong>of</strong> this proposedplan <strong>of</strong> subdivision, you must make a written request to the Clerk <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Markham</strong> at theaddress noted above.NOTE REGARDING ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENTIf a person or public body that files an appeal <strong>of</strong> a decision <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Markham</strong> in respect<strong>of</strong> the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment does not make oral submissions at a public meeting,or make written submissions to the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Markham</strong>, before the proposed zoning by-law isadopted, the Ontario Municipal Board may dismiss all or part <strong>of</strong> the appeal.ADDITIONAL INFORMATIONAdditional information is available from Stephen Kitagawa (ext. 4530) <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong>’s PlanningDepartment, tel.
