Diane: I grew up in Arncliffe in the inner
suburbs of Sydney on one of the few small
acreages around with my Dutch parents
who ran the renowned “Shetland
Ponyland Express” and also a Ju-Jitsu
(self defence) School.
After leaving high school I have tried
many avenues in life, gaining experience in
several positions such as, a Salesperson for
a Saddlery called JP Talty’s in the City, a
Retail Manageress for Hallmark Cards &
Gifts, a Floor Supervisor for Peppers
Fairmont Resort at Leura, Accounts
Receivable in a automotive company, and

Introducing..............................Diane & Daniel McAusland
You may have noticed, we’ve got a few new bodies on the Committee or in special
roles. Some are new to the region, others are new to the industry. Over the next
few issues I’ll be asking them to provide brief biographies so that we can all get to
know them better.
In this issue we meet Diane & Daniel McAusland who, despite being newcomers,
have taken on the task of organizing this year’s Alpaca Fiesta & Auction.

I had seen alpacas quite some years ago at
Penrith Panthers, and fell in love with the
inquisitive and beautiful animals, but at
that stage in my life they were financially
unaffordable.
Daniel: I grew up in the Macarthur
district in the south west of Sydney where
I was surrounded by grazing cows in the
distance until what I call, “Legoland” was
established and formed what is now
suburbia.
