Shetrained with Champaign Ballet Academy during highschool and has previously appeared in solo rolesin The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and The SleepingBeauty. Bera currently dances with Ghungroo DanceCompany, an Indian fusion dance group. She hopesto earn her MFA in dance and become a certifiedphysical therapist.Emily Beverly is a freshman at Urbana High Schooland has trained at Champaign Ballet Academy for 10years, appearing in 10 productions of The Nutcrackerwith CU Ballet and in corps de ballet roles in thecompany’s Cinderella, Swan Lake, The SleepingBeauty, and Coppélia.Ben Chapman is a high school sophomore and hastrained exclusively at Champaign Ballet Academyfor eight years under the direction of Deanna Dotyand guest instructors of the academy. Last summer,he attended an intensive with Salt Creek Ballet. Thismarks his third season as a company member; he haspreviously appeared with CU Ballet in The SleepingBeauty, Swan Lake, Cinderella, and most recently inthe role of Franz in Coppélia.Bliss Chapman is homeschooled and has trainedat Champaign Ballet Academy for eight years. Thisseason marks his eighth year with CU Ballet and hisfirst as a company member. He has also appeared inCU Ballet’s productions of The Sleeping Beauty andCoppélia.John Dayger debuted in The Nutcrackermany years ago as the Magic Dancing Bed inBalanchine’s version for Atlanta Ballet. With CUBallet, he has appeared in Swan Lake, The SleepingBeauty, Cinderella, and in several productions ofThe Nutcracker. Throughout his lengthy professionalcareer, he has performed in many diverse areasprofilesof dance, opera, and theatre both nationally andinternationally. He currently teaches ballet for Danceat Illinois.Maura Dickson is a senior at Central High School.She has been dancing for 14 years, has trained withDeanna Doty at Champaign Ballet Academy for thelast five years, and attended Joffrey Ballet’s SummerDance Lab in 2011. She recently danced the role ofSwanhilda in last season’s production of Coppélia.Brett Feddersen has appeared in many productionswith CU Ballet. His previous credits include TheNutcracker, Swan Lake, Coppélia, and The SleepingBeauty. A black belt in tae kwon do, he holds a PhDin physics from the University of Illinois and is a seniorsoftware engineer at Frasca International in Urbana.Taylor Feddersen is appearing in her 10thproduction of The Nutcracker with CU Ballet. Sheperformed the role of Clara last season andpreviously appeared in CU Ballet’s productions ofCinderella, Swan Lake, Coppélia, and The SleepingBeauty. She is a freshman at Centennial High Schooland trains at Champaign Ballet Academy.Sara Hawthorne is in eighth grade and has beendancing at Champaign Ballet Academy for eightyears. She is a first-year company member and hasappeared as an apprentice in CU Ballet’s productionsof The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Swan Lake, TheSleeping Beauty, and Coppélia.Peyton Herbert is a freshman at CentennialHigh School and has trained at Champaign BalletAcademy for 10 years. This marks her secondseason as a company member; she has previouslyappeared in Cinderella, Swan Lake, The SleepingBeauty, Coppélia, and The Nutcracker. This year,she attended a master class with Carlos dos SantosJr. of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and IrinaDvorovenko of American Ballet Theatre.12 13
