The company utilises animpressive warehouse with approximately10,000 pallet storage places,countless storage tanks and its ownresearch laboratory for analysisand quality control.“A feeling of trust” –Meypack’s VP 511 is well receivedWhen the packaging capacities becameinsufficient due to a noticeableincrease in the household consumptionof wine in Britain, CorbyBottlers Managing Director JohnSteel saw the need to consider anexpansion. The existing machinewas to be exchanged for a new,more powerful system. At thesame time, the new packagingsystem also had to be more flexibleand able to run all standard bottleformats.During the competition phase,Meypack was able to beat out threeother competitors by offering itshigh speed VP 511. Not o<strong>nl</strong>y werethe technical details and the highspeed convincing (up to 50 casescan be packed per minute), but theimpressive maintenance and serviceconcept provided by the machinespecialist from the Münsterarea was also an additional pluspoint. Meypack’s UK representativePenn Packaging, located inBrantham near Manningtree Essex,successfully executed the project.The project ran smoothly and wasable to be completed on schedule.“I was impressed by the technicalquality and the features of the VP511 machine as well as by the engineerswho professionally carriedout the installation. Instead, it purchaseda used VP 411 and was able to have it in operation very soon thereafter.Bag closing technology on the upswingThe bag closing technology sectionof Meypack, formerly DOBOYand located in Schenefeld/Hamburg,was able to post its best resultssince it was taken over byMeypack.The VP 411 was previously beingused by a company in the fruitjuice industry. The continuous increasein production necessitateda replacement of the system.Meypack took back the VP 411after it had o<strong>nl</strong>y been in productionfor a very short period of time.The system found a new home atBerglandmilch in Aschbach, Austria.“It was the perfect solutionfor us. We found a system thatmatched our needs and were ableto have it in operation more or lessimmediately and that at an attractiveprice performance ratio. Wewere impressed by the flexibilityof the system,” noted the responsibleproject manager at the Austriandairy. The machine packs gabletopmilk cartons in full producthigh trays at a speed of 12 traysPre-grouping of productsper minute.
