Parida’s achievements is a unique blend of academic excellence andprofessional expertise in the area of Highway and Transportation Engineeringand he has shown his ability to shape ideas to meaningful projectDr. Parida hasmade extensive contribution to the studies of Transport Environment Modelling,Urban Transport Planning and Pavement Management System. The contributionmade by Dr. Parida in the above areas found useful in preparation of EIA ofHighway Projects, enhancing Traffic Operation in Cities and Evolving a RationalMethodology for Pavement Management System.Dr. Parida has been a Co-Principal Investigator in a MORT&H SponsoredResearch Project T-1 entitled “Development of Comprehensive Highway NoiseModel & Design of Noise Barrier”. In this project, Methodology has been evolvedfor Prediction of Highway Traffic Noise and Design of Noise Barrier. The findingsof the project has been published in IRC Journal 62-3 and Discussed in 62 ndAnnual Congress of Indian Roads Congress, New Delhi at Cochin in 2002.Currently, he is Co-coordinator in a Nationally Co-ordinated Project on “UrbanTransport Environment Interaction” Sponsored by AICTE, New Delhi. He is alsoCo-coordinator of a NCP Project on “Road Traffic Safety” Sponsored by AICTE,New Delhi. In this project, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, BangaloreUniversity and Institute of Engg. & Technology Lucknow are partner Institutions.He is also associated as Co-coordinator in a joint project entitled, “Development ofGuidelines for Pavement Management System for Primary, Secondary and UrbanRoads” Sponsored by IRC/MOST jointly with CRRI and Bangalore University.Dr. Parida has supervised 24 M.E. Theses and 8 M.Tech Theses, 4 Ph.D. Thesesare currently in progress under his supervision. One of his article has beenpublished in a book and he has published more than 100 papers in various IndianJournals and Proceedings of International Conferences. He has completed 08Sponsored Research Projects Costing (Rs. 5 million) and over 28 MajorConsultancy Projects Costing (Rs. 10 million). Dr. Parida has developedSoftwares for Noise Prediction, Design of Noise Barrier, Transportation Planningand Traffic Engineering Improvement.
