General Rules and Regulations1) The Organiser referred to in these Rules and Conditions shall hereinafter mean Lake Farm EquestrianEvents LLP, Bolesworth International will hereinafter be referred to as The Show.2) So far as permitted by law the Organiser, its officers, employees and representatives will not be liable toany person whosoever whilst upon, entering, or leaving the Showground for any loss,damage, death injury or accident to persons or property or for lost or stolen items.3) Each Exhibitor must keep the Organiser its officers, employees and representatives fully indemnifiedagainst all losses, actions, costs, claims, demands and expenses arising directly or indirectly out of any act,omission or negligence by him or by any one attending the Show, in connection with his entry or otherwiseexpressly or impliedly with his authority. Therefore, all Exhibitors, Competitors and Owners are stronglyadvised to take out third-party liability insurance. The Organiser cannot advise on policies or their suitabilityand it is the individual’s responsibility to obtain advice wherever necessary. Exhibitors, Owners and Competitorsare personally responsible for ensuring that they take all necessary measures with regard to healthand safety. The attention of exhibitors with stallions is drawn to BSJA Rule 82.21. No member of the BSJAshall allow a stallion for which he is responsible, as owner, lessee, authorised agent, or rider to attend ashow, compete or be prepared to compete, in any show jumping competition without taking adequate precautionsto ensure other horses/ponies, competitors and members of the public are not put at risk of injury.4) The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, add to, or amend any of the Classes in accordance withBSJA rules.5) Signature by the person making the entries shall be deemed to be an acceptance of the Conditionsherein contained.6) JUMPING COMPETITIONS.This event is organised in accordance with the rules of the British Show Jumping Association and the FEI.7) DECLARATIONSDeclarations are required for all classes in the International Arena and Castle Arena. In addition, first and insome cases second classes in the Lake Arena will be drawn order and require declaration. They should bemade not later than 1800 hrs the day before the class.8) SUBSTITUTIONSAre in accordance with BSJA Rules.9) ORDER OF JUMPING.The order of jumping for classes in the International Arena, Castle Arena and the first and in some casessecond classes in the Lake Arena each day, will be drawn. Horses must jump in the order they appear onthe Running Order, which will be posted, unless special permission has been obtained from the Judges.10) STANDARD.When a standard set by the Judges has been reached, any competitor making more than the fixed numberof penalties shall be retired.11) OBJECTIONS.Objections should be made in writing in accordance with BSJA Rule 198. A £100 deposit in cash will berequired per objection.12) VACCINATION AGAINST EQUINE INFLUENZAAll horses at the Show must have a current and valid certificate of vaccination against Equine Influenza.There will be random checking of certificates and any horse or pony found without a valid certificate willnot be permitted to remain on the showground.13) STABLING.Stables may be booked for the duration of the Show at a price of £85.00. Stables must be booked on theentry form. Competitors wishing to check that their stable reservation has been confirmed should contactthe Entries Secretary.23


General Rules and Regulations cont.14) BEDDING & FORAGE.Shavings, fodder, haylage and hay can be purchased on site from Stable Manager.15) ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE AT SHOW.The stable area will be open from 4.30pm on Tuesday 16th of June <strong>2015</strong> for International Competitors andfrom 14:30 on Wednesday 17th of June for <strong>National</strong> competitors. Competitors may not arrive between thehours of 2200 hrs and 0600 hrs without prior arrangement with the Show.16) PRIZE MONEY.Prize money may be collected at the show.In the event of insufficient starters rule 76.6.1 may be applied.17) The Organisers reserve the right to invite riders to compete in championship classes.18) ENTRIES.(a) CLOSING DATE:Entries close on 5th of June <strong>2015</strong>.(b) The Show may at its absolute discretion, decline any entry, or exclude or remove any person or animalfrom the show or future shows or return any entry fee without being required to assign any reason or beingliable for any compensation.(c) Entries must be sent by post on the official entry form. Faxed or emailed entries will not be accepted.(d) In the event that a cheque has to be re-presented to the bank, each time a £15 charge will be added tothe riders account.(e) Entry fees that are not received in full by 1st of July <strong>2015</strong> may be subject to a 100% surcharge.19) REFUND OF ENTRY FEES.Refunds will only be made in accordance with BSJA Rule 79.4.1. and not at all after 12 noon on Tuesdaythe 16th of June <strong>2015</strong>. Stabling fees will not be refunded.20) MEDICAL CHARGE.Exhibitors are required to contribute £2 per rider per day towards medical cover.21) FARRIER & VETERINARY SURGEON.The services of a vet & farrier are available at the show. Owners and/or the person responsible are responsiblefor any costs incurred.22) MOTOR BIKES, SCOOTERS & BICYCLES Motorbikes & bicycles WILL NOT BE PERMITTED anywhereon the showground.23) ESTATE.Under no circumstances may any horse go on to any other areas of the estate, other than that area designatedfor the event. Any horse found outside of the designated area will be eliminated from the show.24) TROPHIES.Trophies are all perpetual & the winner is responsible for their safe return and insurance when in their possession.Trophies should be collected from the Show Office.25) ELECTRIC HOOK-UPA limited number of electric hook ups are available. The power source is via a generator. The event willendeavour to provide continuous supply but cannot guarantee this.24


Important Information for allCompetitors1 Access to the showground on Tuesday 16 June <strong>2015</strong> will not be before 16.30without prior arrangement. Competitors may not arrive between 22.00 hrs and 06.00hrs without prior agreement with the show.2 A 5mph speed limit will be strictly enforced within the showground.3 Open fires will not be allowed under any circumstance. Purpose built Barbequeswill be allowed under strict supervision.4 Horses must not be left tethered or unattended whilst out of the stable ortransporters under any circumstances.5 Dogs off leads are strictly forbidden on the show ground.6 The main fire point is located at the stable manager’s office.7 All horses must remain within the designated areas and walkways at all times.It is strictly forbidden to exercise or move horses in any areas other than thosedesignated as walkways, warm up areas or stabling area.8 The stabling area is designated as a no smoking area.Fire ProcedureIn the event of a fire:1 Raise the alarm.2 The Stable Manager will ensure that the Fire Brigade are notified.3 Public address announcements will give clear evacuation announcements.4 Stewards will assist the security and event managers in crowd control.5 The show director will co-ordinate and evaluate the situation.6 The show director will liaise with the Fire Brigade on their arrival.7 Follow instructions from the Senior Fire Officer present.Declarations must be made for all classes in the International Arena and firstand in some instances second classes in the Castle and Lake Arenas by 1800hrs on the day before the class.
