Their house was madepossible through the partnership <strong>of</strong> Riverhead Building Supply and the Greater Hamptons Interfaith Council.House # 92 - In December Santa Claus presented the Flores-Santiago family with the keys to their new home. Stony BrookUniversity proudly built this, their 4th house with <strong>Habitat</strong>, with the family in Bellport.House # 93 - The Fowler family happily looks on as their Pastor blesses their new home in Central Islip. Long time <strong>Habitat</strong>house sponsor Duralee Fabrics teamed up with the realtor organizations <strong>of</strong> LIBOR and NYSAR to build the house.House # 94 - Marilyn Lopez cuts the ribbon on her new front porch in Central Islip. After overcoming a rained out wallraising, all came up roses as the rescheduled day was a success. The Mc NairFamily home will be dedicated in memory <strong>of</strong>Mary Sammis (pictured left), a <strong>Habitat</strong>Women Build volunteer who died tragicallyon a hiking expedition in January when she, her husband, and three children werejust hours away from realizing her dream <strong>of</strong> having the “adventure <strong>of</strong> a lifetime” andreaching the summit <strong>of</strong> Mt. Kilimanjaro.Mary Sammis’ family asked other family members and friends to make donations to<strong>Habitat</strong> in her memory. They asked us to remember Mary and <strong>Habitat</strong> is proud todedicate this home in her memory. Her husband Scott believes Mary’s legacy andthe lessons they learned on Mt. Kilimanjaro will help his family and friends goon…”one step at a time, one breath at a time.
