G-823A CESIUM MAGNETOMETEROAirborne and vehicle applications with Multi-Sensor Array CapabilityO High Sensitivity Õ 0.004 nT/%Hz RMS with the CM-201 Mini-CounterOOOOVersatility Õ CM-201 counterincludes 6 channel 12 bit A to Dconverters for digitization ofaltimeter or other analog signals, digital data stream concatenationSuperior resolution of the CesiumLarmor signal with earth’s fieldtracking rates exceeding thousandsof nT (ã) over 0.1 second periodsGradiometer arrays offeringsimultaneous operation of up to sixseparate sensors using thedesigned-in concatenation of theCM-201 Internal Mini-counterGeometrics offers complete turnkeysystems including Birds, Stingers,Wingtip installation accessories aswell as Digital Data AcquisitionSystems, Flight Path Recovery, GPSNavigation, Gamma Ray Spectrometers, VLF EM and Post Acquisition Data Processing Software and training.Model G-823A includes the well proven highperformance G-822A sensor with the ultra-smallsize CM-201 Larmor counter. This new model(G-823A) provides unmatched versatility ofperformance, size, function, and costeffectiveness. The system has two outputs: thestandard Larmor sine wave superimposed on 28VDC power (uncounted for RMS AADCII or 822ACounter) or the Larmor signal counted, convertedinto nT(ã) and output as RS-232 for recording byany standard computer. This powerful newcombination is also the basis for new specializedmodels such as G-823B Base Station. The G-823A provides sensitivities of 0.002 nT at 1Hz up to 0.22 nT at 100 Hz which are selectablevia software command. Typical operation mightinclude 0.02 nT at 10 samples per second. Inaddition to the magnetometer measurement, theCM-201 Counter also includes Julian / Time /Date, a provision to accept an external sync pulseand six A/D converters for digitizing and recordingsignal amplitude, radar/ barometric altimeter, EMor other analog data. The transmission format ofall functions is also selected by softwarecommand and may be customized for eachdifferent job.The system's high performance and multi-functioncapability are excellent for mapping geologicstructure, for mining, oil and gas exploration andthe detection and delineation of target bodies forenvironmental or military surveys. Detectionranges, target classification and precisionmapping are enhanced by the G-823Aperformance and in some cases provide resultsnot achievable by any other means. The G-823Ameets the highest standards for airborne, land ormarine surveys and over 300 systems are inservice. Custom length cables and specialpackaging are available for each of theseapplications. Critical heading error performance isdocumented and supplied for each G-823Asystem.

Gradiometer sensor arrays are particularly effectivefor geologic mapping and target identification. TheG-823A provides ability to concatenate RS-232outputs from up to six sensor/counter assemblies intoa single digital stream, transmitted up a single cableand recorded on a single computer port. Each ofthese sensors are synchronized for simultaneousmeasurement at high sample rates. Once a newsystem has completed all phases of run-in andtesting, reliability is very high. The specializedCesium components are stable and not subject tolimited life or early failure. Even after years ofoperation, full conformance with original stringentspecifications can be expected. A full one yearwarranty is offered with every system.G-823BProducing sensors with extremely low heading error(±0.25nT) is an expensive and time consumingprocess. Some sensors are produces to a lessexacting heading error standard and are thusdesignated as model G-823B. These units areidentical in all performance and reliability standardsexcept for heading error where typical system specsmay range from ±2 to 3 nT or larger (Heading errorsspecs are not supplied with the 823B). These systemsare offered for base station use (where heading erroris not an issue) at a significantly lower price.Systems come complete with interconnect cables,power/data splitter box and tripod with nylon supportwires.MODEL G-823A AIRBORNE CESIUM MAGNETOMETER SENSOR SPECIFICATIONSOPERATING PRINCIPLE:Self-oscillating split-beam Cesium Vapor (non-radioactive)OPERATING RANGE:20,000 to 100,000 nTOPERATING ZONES:The earth’s field vector should be at an angle greater than 6E fromthe sensor’s equator and greater than 6E away from the sensor’slong axis.
