The portfolio must demonstrateskills in design, as well as creativity and technicalcompetences; (the portfolio must be composedof at least 12 drawings, photos or slides, supportedby a brief description of the personal contribution tothe development of the project).· a brief autobiographical description in which onenarrates the reason for applying to <strong>Istituto</strong> <strong>Marangoni</strong>and to the chosen course, in which one describepersonal interests and aspirations, any award or recognitionwon and all the relevant information for theselection process.Applicant might have access to these postgraduateprogrammes without a university degree, if one hasproven work experience in the fashion or design field.languagesAll non-native speakers must have a basic knowledgeof the language of the chosen course.<strong>Istituto</strong> <strong>Marangoni</strong> reserves the right to invite the applicantfor an interview to verify the language skillsnecessary for the chosen course.<strong>Istituto</strong> <strong>Marangoni</strong> will notify the applicant of the dateand time of the interview at least two weeks in advance.<strong>Istituto</strong> <strong>Marangoni</strong> has introduced language coursesaimed at deepening the fashion and design vocabularyof students.This is useful to satisfy a basic level of understandingduring the <strong>Istituto</strong> <strong>Marangoni</strong> lectures.These courses can only be attended if in conjunctionwith one of the <strong>Istituto</strong> <strong>Marangoni</strong> programmes.The offered language courses are intensive coursesand last for the duration of the whole academic year.To aid the placement of graduates in internships incompanies in Italy, taking the language course 'DesignSpeaks Italian' is recommended.It is possible to receive detailed information and explanationsby contacting the information office at thedesign campus.payments andreimbursementsThe enrolment fee must be paid upon initial enrolmentand it is due each year of the course.For students who need a visa, payment of the tuitionfee must be made 90 days prior to the course startingdate.For other students the payment of the tuition feeshould be received:· No later than january 3, 2014 for courses starting infebruary 2014.· No later than september 1, 2014 for courses startingin october 2014;The enrolment fee is not refundable, except when thestudent is not accepted by <strong>Istituto</strong> <strong>Marangoni</strong> or whena visa is refused.Tuition fees are refundable as follows:· Your written notice of cancellation of the course90 days or more prior to the commencement of thecourse, the student will be entitled to a refund of100% of the fees;· Your written notice of cancellation of the course60 days or more prior to the commencement of thecourse, the student will be entitled to a refund of80% of the fees;· Your written notice of cancellation of the course nolater than one week after commencement of thecourse, the student will be entitled to a refund of50% of the fees.The reimbursement of tuition fees will be made onlyafter the receipt of an official letter of cancellation;all letters must include the bank details for refundpurposes.After the first week of classes, students who cannotattend classes due to illness, personal reasons orprofessional commitments will not be entitled to anyrefund or transfer.The above list is not exhaustive.For further information please refer to the generalenrolment terms and conditions.
