FLEROGUM 2317Foam additive for natural and synthetic laticesas well as plastic dispersionsChemical compositionsulfosuccinamateCharacteristicsAppearance:yellowish-white, viscous, thixotropic liquidIonicity:anionicSolubility/Emulsifiability: dilutable with cold or warm water in all proportionspH-value of 10% emulsion: 7,1 to 8.5Resistance:stable in weakly alkaline and acid media; compatible with anionic,non-ionic and amphoteric substances; the product has no tendencyto hydrolysisStorage:at least 12 months if properly storedStability to frost:not sensitive to frostApplication propertiesFLEROGUM 2317 is a foam additive which is predominantly used in carpet back coating. The following special features are distinguished:• high compatibility with other additives• excellent foaming power• promotes generation of stable, fine-pored foams• no influence on rewetting properties• applicable in thermovulcanization processes according to the “non-gel method”Application fieldsFLEROGUM 2317 is a foam additive for foaming-up of plastic dispersions and latices in coatingof textile floor coverings. The product has excellent foaming properties. The wet latex foams produced with FLEROGUM 2317 are very stable, fine-pored and result ineven and fine-pored foam backings with a particularly smooth surface. The storage stability of thecompound is considerably improved by FLEROGUM 2317.The product imparts no rewetting properties. The above results have been obtained from trials in our laboratory and plant. FLEROGUM 2317Above all, the product is used in the so-called “non-gel process” where no vulcanizationaccelerator is applied for vulcanization of the latex but thermal cross-linking of the latex takesplace exclusively (thermovulcanization). For the “gel process”, our product FLEROGUM K 25 is available.Guidelines for applicationFLEROGUM 2317 can be easily incorporated into all common synthetic and natural latices andother plastic dispersions and is well compatible with filling materials such as chalk and similaradditives. The exact application quantity in each case is to be determined by preliminary trials because therequired amount of FLEROGUM 2317 depends on the respective kind and quantity of the otheradditives. The FLEROGUM quantities to be added are different for natural and synthetic latices. We suggest to applyfor natural latex: 0.8 - 1.5% FLEROGUM 2317(calculated on the solid content of the latex)for synthetic latex: 3.0 - 6.0% FLEROGUM 2317(calculated on the solid content of the latex)for plastic dispersions: 1.0 - 3.0% FLEROGUM 2317(calculated on the solid content of the latex)The above results have been obtained from trials in our laboratory and plant. In the lightof changing conditions they can only serve as a guide and are therefore offered withoutobligation. We ask you to observe the possible rights of third parties.Stand:11.
