ELACTIV 1307Antistatic agent for use in pre-coating of tufted carpetsand for needle felt - meets requirements according to EN 1307 -Chemical compositioncombination of a carboxylic acid compound and polymerisatesCharacteristicsPhysical form:colourless up to yellowish liquidIonicity:anionicSolubility/Emulsifiability: dilutable with cold or warm water in all proportionspH-value (original): 9 - 9,5Resistance:compatible with non-ionic and anionic substances; resistant toorganic acids and alkali in usual concentrations as well as to hardwaterStorage:at least 12 months if properly storedStability to frost:not sensitive to frostApplication propertiesELACTIV 1307 is an antistatic agent applicable to carpet back coatings. The following featuresare important:• complies with the requirements of EN 1307 standards (antistatic effect after sprayextraction cleaning)• no influence on the foaming capability and foam stability of latex compounds• high antistatic effect• minimal influence on resoiling properties• no deterioration of adhesion between carpet back and coating (delamination) and loopbonding• no negative influence on the carpet touch• negligible viscosity changes of the latex mixtures• no change in shade after drying• no decomposition at high temperatures• easy to handle, pumpable because of the liquid consistency• shear stableThe above results have been obtained from trials in our laboratory and plant. In the lightof changing conditions they can only serve as a guide and are therefore offered withoutobligation. We ask you to observe the possible rights of third parties.Stand:11. ELACTIV 1307Application fieldsELACTIV 1307 imparts to the carpet and needle felt electric conductivity which results in anexcellent abduction of electrostatic chargings. The effect has a good permanence (even afterspray extraction cleaning procedures) which is important for a comfortable and unproblematicuse of textile floor coverings - also in rooms which are equipped with sensitive devices (e.g.computers).It is generally known that the ultimately achieved conductivity does not only depend on the typeand amount of antistatic agent alone, but also on a number of other factors such as:• Type of fibre(Synthetic fibres have a higher tendency to electrostatic charging than natural fibres;including of steel fibres promotes the abduction of the electrostatic charging.)• Article design(velvet pile, loop pile or needle felt carpets)• Type of latex, filling degree and filling material• Kind and composition of the back coating(foam backing, secondary backing)Suitable testing methods for the determination of the conductivity are such as measurement ofthe electric resistivity values (surface resistivity of pile and back, volume resistivity acc. toDIN 54345 Part 6) and the electrostatic charging of persons by means of the „real“ or „simulatedwalking test“ (DIN 54345 Part 2+3, ISO 6356).Guidelines for applicationELACTIV 1307 is easy to handle and can be incorporated into the compounds without problems. The product is added to the compound in undiluted form as the last component or it is applied tothe carpet back by a separate dosing unit immediately before the application of the precoating. We suggest to use amounts of20 to 30 g/m 2 for the preliminary or bonding coating. The exact application quantities depend on the criteria mentioned above. They should be adjustedto the prevailing conditions. The above results have been obtained from trials in our laboratory and plant. In the lightof changing conditions they can only serve as a guide and are therefore offered withoutobligation. We ask you to observe the possible rights of third parties.Stand:11.
