EUREKA GOLD is an off-shears spray-on backline licetreatment indicated for the control of organophosphate (OP)susceptible and synthetic pyrethroid (SP) resistant strains ofthe sheep body louse (Bovicola ovis).Eureka Gold is manufactured in Australia and marketed byCoopers Animal Health, a supplier of lice control products toAustralian farmers for over 120 years.Eureka Gold combines the proven effectiveness of diazinon forrapid knockdown of lice with the convenience of an off-shearsapplication.ROTATE TO EUREKA GOLDOver the last decade, farmers have relied on backliner InsectGrowth Regulators (IGRs) for effective lice control. HOW TO USE EUREKA GOLDMixingEureka Gold is supplied as a concentrate which must be dilutedwith clean water prior to use. Mix 1 part of Eureka Gold to 6parts of water. The diluted product must be used within 3 days ofmixing. ApplicationEureka Gold is applied using the Genesis 150 mL Eureka GoldPower Doser within 24 hours of shearing. This applicatordelivers the high volume dose required, quickly and accurately,whilst ensuring optimum body coverage.Eureka Gold is applied in a band from the poll, along thebackline, to the butt of the tail.Note: The applicator will deliver up to 150 mL, so for sheepgreater than 50 kg who require more than 150 mL, split thedose: applying the first dose head to themiddle of the back, and the second dosefrom the middle of the back to the tail.Up to 6 weeks are required for EurekaGold to kill lice on treated sheep. EurekaGold should only be applied to cleanlyshorn sheep and is not suitable for use onlambing ewes or ewes with lambs at foot.Eureka Gold should not be used to treatewes less than 6 weeks before lambingcommences, as live lice can persist andinfect the lambs. Following treatment, donot mix treated sheep with untreatedsheep. Severely stressed sheep or those inpoor health should not be treated.WITHHOLDING PERIODSMEATMILKWOOLEXPORT SLAUGHTERINTERVAL21 daysDO NOT USE on sheep which areproducing or may produce milk forhuman consumption or processingDO NOT USE less than 2 months beforeshearing or fibre collection21 days

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS AFTER TREATMENT?In field trials with Eureka Gold, moderate rainfall on the dayof treatment did not reduce the efficacy of Eureka Gold. Coopersare confident that the efficacy of Eureka Gold will not becompromised by rainfall up to 37 mm within 24 hours oftreatment.OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETYTo minimise operator exposure it is recommended that duringmixing and when using the spray the following PersonalProtective Equipment is worn:• Cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist• A washable hat• Elbow length PVC gloves• Water resistant footwearEureka Gold offers a wide margin of safety to your stock withsheep treated at up to 6 times the label rate showing no signsof toxicity.PACKAGINGEureka Gold is available in a 20 L drum.
