The Graduate Programme Office will announce to students via e-mail to inform the calculatorregistration period [approximately 1 to 2 months before revision & examination period].7.2 The Grade Point Average (GPA) SystemPlease refer to Appendix B (G/1405/05S) or the following link for details on GPA System.http://www.ntu.edu.sg/gso/coursework/GPA.pdf8. OPTION OF STUDY: COURSEWORK & DISSERTATIONStudents are allowed to view, select and apply the dissertation project via the online MSc ProjectManagement System (MPS). Students can only access the MPS after they have enrolled to theprogramme officially. The dissertation project must be related to student’s programme of studies and theduration for dissertation project should be at least 6 to 7 working months.8.1 Important Note on PlagiarismAll students are hereby informed that plagiarism in all forms from open printed literature and publicaccess domains (such as internet) is a serious offence in dissertation. A Declaration Form has to be signed by the student andsupervisor when the dissertation is submitted for examination. Please note that the declaration form canbe downloaded from our intranet. [This link is only available after students have enrolled to theprogramme officially].Students are required to submit the followings items with their ring-bound dissertation (two copies)through the supervisor and Programme Director to the Head of Division. The dissertation and forms willsubsequently be forwarded to Graduate Programme Office, EEE to follow-up on examination process:1. For a student to join the convocation (1) held in July of each year, he/she must have fulfilled and passedall requirements (including submitting one copy of the final hard-bound dissertation with one CD ROMconsists of the soft-copy of the final dissertation in one file either in MS Words or PDF format) by thedeadline stipulated by the Graduate Studies Office (The deadline is usually set around mid-May andannounced by the Graduate Studies Office). Based on past cases, in general, the dissertation has to beapproved by the supervisor, Programme Director and Divisional Head by early March in the samecalendar year that it is ready for examination. This is based on the assumption that the dissertationexaminers only require the student to make some minor changes to the dissertation and that the studentpromptly revises the dissertation in accordance with the examiners’ recommendation. One final hardboundcopy with one CD ROM (The soft-copy of the final dissertation can be either in MS Words orPDF format) should reach the Graduate Programme Office by the mid of May in order to join theconvocation of that particular year.Student is liable to pay fee for the following semester should he/she fail to obtain approval from thesupervisor, Programme Director and Divisional Head for his/her dissertation submission by the end of asemester (i.e., before the first day of the following semester). Student is also liable to pay fee for one ormore subsequent semesters should the examiners recommend more work to be done for the project orstudent failed to submit the amended dissertation by the deadline stipulated. The standard dissertation format prescribed by the School is given in Appendix C. 17. NTU EEE ALUMI ASSOCIATIONNTU EEE degree does not just give you an individual training, it also opens up a whole network ofopportunities with industries, academia and other graduates from this big family. The Electrical &Electronics Engineering Alumni Association (EEEAA) is one of the conduits for this network.EEEAA was set up in December 1996 by our pioneer batch of EEE graduates. It is an association ofgraduates of EEE with members stretching from the very first batch in 1985 to the current graduatingcohort. The purpose of the association has always been a platform to foster ever closer ties between theSchool, industries, graduates and current students. Besides organising educational, social, cultural, recreational, sporting and civic activities among EEE alumni, the association also serves as a body formembers in the promotion and advancement of electrical and electronic engineering education andknowledge. The Association is the bridge between the tradition of the past and the energy of the present. Since 1997,the Association has been working closely with the School in nurturing a close relationship with thealumni and reinforcing the bond between the alumni and alma mater. It provides a great networkingchannel for NTU EEE graduates and undergraduates. The Association is also keen to nurture lifelongrelationships with future EEE alumni by providing valued services and activities that benefit the EEEundergraduates at large, by working with EEE Student Clubs and Alumni Affair Offices on joint socialevents, personal enrichment programs and career advancement opportunities.Attracting members to the Association will remain a priority, and with more relevant and attractiveevents organised, both students and graduates will appreciate the need to join the Association and enjoythe privileges. News about upcoming alumni events and privileges are also featured regularly in theSchool’s alumni URL: http://www.eee.ntu.edu.sg/Alumni/Pages/EEEAlumni.aspx, the Association’sURL: http://www.eeeaa.org/ and E3 World, a magazine that is published half-yearly by the School anddistributed to all students and alumni. All current EEE undergraduates of NTU are encouraged to join asstudent members for S$10 (membership fee) and the entrance fee is waived. Upon graduation, thestudent members will just have to top up the remaining life membership fee to become life members. Thecurrent life membership fee is $30.
