terms &conditionsGroup leaders interested in earning and redeeming GlobalRewards Points and rewards must first opt-in to the GlobalRewards Program, thereby accepting the following terms andconditions of the program. The following also applies to groupleaders choosing to opt-out of the program.Program opt-in: In order to be eligible for points andrewards, group leaders must be enrolled in the GlobalRewards Program and travel with at least 5 full-payingparticipants on their first <strong>EF</strong> tour and 6 full-paying participantson subsequent <strong>EF</strong> tours. In order to be credited for rewardsassociated with a given tour, program enrolment must occurprior to the departure of the group leader’s tour. Points andrewards earned will remain pending until the tour departs.A group leader may also decide to opt-out of the GlobalRewards Program.Program opt-out: A group leader may decide to opt-outof the Global Rewards Program. Upon opting-out, all pointsaccrued and membership level are forfeited. A group leadermay decide to re-join the program, however, points associatedwith tours taken during the opt-out period will not be creditedto the group leader account and forfeited points will not bereinstated. Tour points or bonuses are not retroactive. <strong>EF</strong>reserves the right to terminate Global Rewards accountswithout notice.Membership levels: Membership levels are based onthe number of full-paying participants that have travelled witha group leader over the last four consecutive years. Qualifyingtours during the four consecutive years must have travelledwith a minimum of 6 full-paying participants (first-time groupleaders can qualify with 5 full-paying participants on theirfirst tour). Membership levels are calculated once a year.Tour points: Group leaders earn one Global RewardsPoint per day per full-paying participant for the duration of thetour once the group size has reached the required ratio of fullpayingparticipants. Points are awarded for the total number ofstandard tour days only and not for stay-ahead or stay-behindperiods (for regular and customized tours). In addition, GlobalRewards Points are not awarded for free-place participants,for participants who have received family or faculty discounts,or for participants who have cancelled their enrolments ortransferred to another tour. Global Rewards Points arecredited and applied to the account as ‘pending’ as soonas <strong>EF</strong> processes the tour applications. Global Rewards Pointsremain pending until the group leader completes travel fora given reward year, at which point they become active.Points cannot be redeemed until they are active. Land-onlyparticipants count towards Global Rewards Points, free placesand travel grants.Points earned for optional excursions:Global Rewards Points will be added to a group leader’saccount for prepaid optional excursion enrolments only, assoon as the pre-paid enrolment is received by <strong>EF</strong>. Creditedpoints will remain pending until the group leader completestravel for a given reward year. Credited points will be deductedif the optional excursion does not run or the participant cancelsfrom the optional excursion. No points are awarded for optionalexcursions purchased while on tour, for non-<strong>EF</strong> excursions orfor optional excursions when payment is refunded.Points earned through referrals: The referredgroup leader must not have led a prior <strong>EF</strong> tour as a groupleader. The referral points will not be awarded for co-groupleaders, unless the co-group leader is teaching in a differentschool than the referee. If the co-group leader is from thesame school, then the reward is issued after the referred groupleader travels on a second <strong>EF</strong> tour independently. The referralbonus is not valid for a replacement group leader in the casethat the original group leader is unable to travel. The referredgroup leader must travel with at least fifteen full-payingparticipants on an <strong>EF</strong> <strong>Educational</strong> Tour to earn the reward.<strong>EF</strong> will notify referring group leaders that they have qualified.A Global Rewards Point bonus will be automatically posted tothe referring group leader’s account on the day the referraldeparts on his or her <strong>EF</strong> tour. <strong>EF</strong> will deduct points and senda cheque if the referring group leader prefers cash. Referralbonuses are only valid for <strong>EF</strong> <strong>Educational</strong> <strong>Tours</strong>. To qualify forthe reward, the referral must travel within two years of thereferral entry date. Referral points or bonuses arenot retroactive.Point totals: The number of Global Rewards Pointsrequired for a reward must be active and credited to agroup leader’s account before he or she redeems for thereward. Group leaders cannot use cash to supplement pointdeficiencies. Global Rewards Points are non-negotiable,non-transferable, and have no alternative cash value.Under no circumstances may group leaders pool their pointsto claim Global Rewards. This applies to married couples evenif they serve as co-group leaders on a tour. <strong>EF</strong> is happy toresearch any account discrepancies on Global Rewards Pointsif we are contacted within one year of the time a group leaderearned the points in question. Points are pending until thegroup leader completes travel for a given reward year.Expiration of Global Rewards Points: <strong>EF</strong>’s GlobalRewards Points must be redeemed within four years fromthe date that they are credited to a group leader’s account.The account must be active in accordance to these termsand conditions. For example, Global Rewards Points creditedto your account on March 13, 2005 would expire on March14, 2009. Requests for gift or travel rewards must be madebefore the expiration date. The exception is group leaderswhose points automatically have life-time validity. <strong>EF</strong> reservesthe right to make changes to the Global Rewards Program atany time without notice, including but not limited to changes inpoint values, point expiration policies and membership levelsand benefits. If tour activity is not posted to an account forfour consecutive years, the account is subject to termination,including forfeiture of all accrued Global Rewards Points.Requests for travel rewards: Travel rewardsinclude round-trip air transportation (except for cruises) andaccommodations in superior tourist-class hotels (except forcruises and round-trip tickets). All requests for travel rewardsmust be submitted to <strong>EF</strong> online at www.eftours.ca. Travelrequests must be received at least 120 days prior to therequested departure date for Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico,international destinations and cruises, and at least 90 daysprior to the requested departure date for continental UnitedStates and Canada destinations. Although <strong>EF</strong> makes everyeffort to accommodate desired dates of departure, <strong>EF</strong> cannotalways guarantee exact dates, and some flexibility on the18Redeem your points at eftours.ca/rewards


<strong>EF</strong> International Convention and Orientation terms and conditionsAll <strong>EF</strong> International Conventions and Orientations include:• Round-trip transportation from primary gateways• Hotel accommodations• Select meals• Professionally-led sightseeing tours• Guided excursions• Personal attention of an <strong>EF</strong> Tour Director and <strong>EF</strong> staff• Engaging discussion groupsTo qualify, you must:• Have participants enrolled on a 2010 tour• Travel on a 2010 tour as the group leader• Earn the required number of Global Rewards Points• Enrol online or by submitting a convention enrolment form before the deadline• Enrol required number of paid participants where applicable• Meet other qualifications specific to individual orientations and conventions• Be opted into the <strong>EF</strong> Global Rewards Program<strong>EF</strong> International Convention and Orientation requests: Submit your convention request online at eftours.caor by submitting a convention enrolment form as soon as you have qualified. Conventions are filled on afirst-come, first-served basis and may be full before the enrolment deadlines. We are not able to arrangestay-ahead/stay-behind options at convention or orientation destinations. Cancellations must be receivedby <strong>EF</strong> in writing at least 90 days prior to departure to avoid forfeiture of Global Rewards Points.Destinations are subject to change and cancellation. <strong>EF</strong> Paris Orientation is for first-time group leadersonly. Exact dates for summer conventions will be available in spring of 2010. All group leaders enrolledwill receive notification of exact departure dates as soon as they are determined.<strong>EF</strong> International Convention guests: Group Leaders may bring a maximum of one guest (paying ornon-paying). Paying guests on convention will only be accepted after all group leaders and their guestsusing Global Rewards Points are accommodated. All guests must be accompanied by an <strong>EF</strong> Group Leader.Convention guests must be at least 18 years of age. Detailed itineraries and rates for paying guests areavailable approximately 90 days prior to the convention’s departure date.Please note: group leaders may not bring guests to the summer Paris Orientation.
