But when it all works right, you getresults — like James Stewart’s total domination of AMA and FIM World Supercross. For 2008, Kawasaki has brought the KX 450Feven closer to factory specs with upgrades that improve power delivery, suspension performance and overall reliability. Revisedcrankshaft mass and balancing delivers smoother power with less vibration, while shift feel is enhanced for the 5-speed gearbox.Handling and traction are likewise enhanced via new engine mounts that optimize chassis rigidity. More exact science also improvesthe suspension with the 48mm inverted cartridge fork now featuring low-friction coatings on the inner and outer tubes just like thefactory race team bikes. Plus there’s even more precise metallurgy and machining improving both ride and handling. Add a host ofreliability upgrades, aggressively-styled graphics and black rims, and you’ve got it — the closest thing ever to a Kawasaki factory ride.• LIME GREEN •1 A new crank web increases mass (60% ascompared to 40% on the ’07 model) forimproved engine balance. This ratio is onpar with champion James Stewart’s KXrace bike! The result is reduced enginevibration and increased performance, especially at low rpm.• The engine is tuned so that the torque curvefollows the limit of running resistance for aslong as possible for less unwanted wheel spin.2 Low-friction fork seals and a super-hardDiamond-Like Carbon coating (DLC) onthe outer surface of the inner fork tubesresult in smoother suspension action andimproved damping performance.• The rear shock receives a new low-frictionKashima Coat on the inside of the reservoirtank cylinder for improved oil flow.• The updated 48mm Kayaba fork alsoreceives the friction-reducing KashimaCoat on the inside of the fork outer tubes.3 New engine mounts now incorporatecollars that hold the engine from awider position (10mm further out) fora slight decrease in torsional rigiditythat contributes to quicker turning andincreased rear wheel traction.• The KX450F is equipped with the bestautomatic compression release (ACR) systemavailable. The dual-weight centrifugaldecompression system fitted to the exhaustcam eases starting.1 2 3CHECK OUT NEW PRODUCT ATKAWASAKI.COM

GREEN MEANS GOLDKX250FAt Kawasaki we’re compassionate as well as competitive. That’s why we pity the other riders who lined up against Ryan Villopotoand Ben Townley as they won their respective 2007 AMA Supercross Lites West and East Region championships.
