06. CONDITIONS AND PROCEDURES OF PARTICIPATION06.01This competition is open to all artists of Classical Islamic Calligraphy, subject to the rules andregulations set out in this booklet. Participation should be on individual basis.06.02Participants may enter the competition at most in 2 separate categories of styles amongthe 10 categories. The works of those participants who enter the competition in more than 2categories or send more than one work in the same category will not be evaluated and will bedisqualified.06.03Calligraphers who won or shared the first winner’s prize in the past competitions canparticipate in the present competition.06.04The enclosed form should be filled and sent to the Competition Secretariat by 30 October2009 at the latest to be able to participate in the competition.06.05Sending the works: The texts should not be illuminated. Care should be taken not to bend,fold or damage the entries in packaging as they shall not be pasted on a paperboard orframed. The artists should deliver their works in person or send them by registered andreply-paid mail. The works should reach the Competition Secretariat by the end ofFebruary 2010.06.06The participants are advised to send all correspondence by registered and reply-paid mail toensure that they reach the Secretariat on time. The Competition Secretariat willanswer letters of the participants only when necessary.12
07. FORMAT CONDITIONS07.01All entries shall observe the following rules and conditions:a.Identity: The text shall not carry any name, mark or impression which may indicatethe identity of the competitor.b.Colour: The text should be written with black ink preferably on glossy paper of offwhiteor light color usually used in calligraphy.c.Dimensions: Works should be written on 40x60 cm. paper. Entries that do notconform to these dimensions shall be disqualified.d. Packing: Care should be taken to use proper packaging to make sure that theentries reach the Secretariat in flat form, without being bent or folded.07.02Liability: The institution organizing the competition or the concerned department is notliable, in any respect, for the delays, damages or losses which may occur in the post.08.
