A student is able to followtheir dream of studying music because of a scholarship received. A professor is able to research thelatest in technology because of a professorship he or she was awarded. A group of students is ableto compete in a national competition because of funds raised through the Foundation. There arecountless stories found all around campus that can be told.UL LAFAYETTE FOUNDATION promotes theeducational, social, moral and material welfare of ULLafayette by assisting in the acquisition of donationsand the investment of the endowment portfolio.These stories are able to unfold because of generous donors that selflessly give in order to take our Universityto the next level. Donors like Col. Philip and Jean Piccione who have established six professorships andare on their way to creating a million dollar chair in Statistics. Or businesses like Cox and Coca-ColaBottling Company who have generous corporate sponsorships with the Athletic Department. Individualsand businesses alike fuel our University to move it along on a journey of excellence.Each year we recognize those donors who go above and beyond at our Distinguished Donors Reception.A Distinguished Donor is one who gives at least $10,000 to the University. When a donor gives$50,000 or more, they are inducted into the University’s Hall of Honor. The Hall of Honor is foundat Martin Hall on the second and third floors. Plaques line the wall commemorating each donation.At the 2009 Distinguished Donor Reception, we were able to induct seven members into the Hallof Honor, which brings the total plaques to 292. Through the Athletic Department and UniversityArt Museum Walls of Honor and the Alumni Association Walk of Honor, the Univerisity is able torecognize the generosity of our donors all across campus.THE DISTINGUISHED DONORS RECEPTION is a yearly event at which theFoundation recognizes donors who go above and beyond to help the UniversityTHE UNIVERSITY HALL OF HONOR and UNIVERSITY ART MUSEUM WALL OF HONORAnother way we recognize our donors is through the Honor Roll. The UL Lafayette Foundation’sHonor Roll is an annual program that enables the Foundation to generate unrestricted gifts. Giftsare primarily used for operational expenses, development efforts, publications and to respond to theUniversity’s needs not met by state funding. Those who become members of the Honor Roll areeligible for consideration onto the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.With ever increasing budget and economic concern, private giving is a crucial component to keep ourUniversity moving towards excellence.
