Bill Howard's letter brought a chuckle on agloomy fall day: "I am still working at <strong>the</strong> UnionMemorial Hospital in Baltimore doing generalsurgery and sports medicine. This is fortunatesince <strong>the</strong> latest addition to my tribe, AnneWallace, arrived last January. I am still activelyplaying rugby with <strong>the</strong> Baltimore County Rugbyteam, proving once again that old age andtreachery will always triumph over youth andskill. His daughter Ginnyand son Harry III are both juniors at <strong>the</strong>University of North Carolina. Each year <strong>the</strong>entire clan ga<strong>the</strong>rs at Squam Lake in NewHampshire, and two years ago <strong>the</strong>y were joinedby Connie and Dave Lindsay ('51). Weunderstand that <strong>the</strong> Cannons, now located inGibsonia, Penna., stopped by campus a year agoEaster, and found no one around. Please tryagain!Call.' Herndon's survival level remains high.He has come through three near-miss planecollisions. one auto collision, <strong>the</strong> explosion of awindow which fell 45 floors into his apartment,and - are you ready for this? - a fire bombthrown at his car en route to <strong>the</strong> winter '82<strong>Alumni</strong> Board meeting at SAS.
