On or about August 1Od', 2008, at approximately 4:00 a.m a series of explosionsoccuned at the Facility caused by the release of propane into the atmosphereand resulting in a fire at the Facility, $everal massive fireballs were released intothe air from the Facility, visible to many of the class membersZS. The series of explosions could be heard and felt by the plaintiffs and other classmembers., From the perspective of area residents, the noise, vibrations andfireballs made it appear as though some kind of bomb had gone off or explosionhad taken place26. The explosions and fire caused damage to the surrounding properlies, shatteringwindows and doors and setting buildings on fire.. Noxious fumes, smoke, gasand other chemicals and contaminants, including asbestos were released frornthe facility as a result of the explosion and fire. Waste and debris from theexplosion landed on the properties of the plaintitfs and class members and theresidue of fumes, gas and other chemicals have contaminated the properties of
