Bringing Back the MemoOn February 4, 2006 at 2:00 P.M., Lysaker gymnasiumwas host to the first Golden EagleWomen’s Basketball alumni game. Manyfamiliar faces filled the court players like: Amy Kuznia(2004), Bev McNamee (2002), Brenda Johnson(1986), and Jody Oien (1979) just to name a few. Thegame brought back many laughs for the alums andsome “old school” moves that haven’t been seen inawhile. It was a hard fought game and at the end, the“Black team” came out victorious.What was your favoritepart of UMC basketball?Later that evening many of the alumni came to supportthe Women’s Basketball team play againstBemidji State. It turned out to be a close gamethroughout with the Beaver’s coming out with a victory.There was a social with lots of great food for all thecurrent and former Women’s basketball players afterthe game. At halftime of the Men’s Basketball game,all the alumni who made it to the events for the daywere introduced. Turned out that thirty-one alumnicame to this event! It was a much better turnout thanexpected, and we can only hope that number willgrow as the years go on! ✦“Defensive privilege drillsin practice!
