Cavalier FeaturesCRAISED MOULDINGApplied mouldings are used on both sides ofall Cavalier doors. The moulding has a simple,rustic profile - perfectly complementing thedistressed design.FACTORY-FINISHEDAll Cavalier doors are custom factory-finished.Doors are stained and highlighted to createthat authentic aged look, bringing out thenatural characteristics of the Mahogany wood.The doors are then top-coated with a UV-resistantpolyurethane. Matching (non-distressed) framecomponents with pleasing color match are alsoavailable.HAND-CRAFTED BLACK IRONIron clavos, or decorative nails, are optional on allCavalier designs. An operating “speakeasy” doorwith compression bulb weather-stripping is alsoavailable. Speakeasy grille, also in black iron, is anoption on all designs.FLOATING PANELSThe solid/finger-jointed Mahogany panelsare free to "float" between fixed endswhich reduces the possibility of the panelssplitting due to natural wood contractions.ENGINEERED STILES AND RAILSAll Cavalier stile & rail components have beenspecially engineered for durability and stability.Sawn Mahogany laminates are applied overfinger-jointed/edge-glued wood cores, usingmortise & tenon joinery, creating componentsthat are more stable than solid wood.
