This is The Haguecalling…Together with the Special Tribunal for Lebanonand no less than eight Lebanese universities, weare the architects of the development and thedelivery, via Live streaming from The Hagueto Beirut, of a 14 strong series of bi-weeklylectures on International Criminal Lawand Procedure to some 130 advanced (law)students. This innovative and unique methodof knowledge delivery, which has already beenpraised for its effectiveness by many distinguishedspeakers, enables the Lebanese students toreceive first-rate tuition from prominent (international)practitioners and academics, located inthe international tribunals and universities in TheHague and in the Netherlands. The the kick-offlecture on 1 November 2011 delivered by JudgeSir David Baragwanath, President of the SpecialTribunal for Lebanon, was seminal in setting thelevel of this initiative.MTEC Administration of Justice - from anorganizational and policy perspective (for judges,prosecutors and civil servant from national ministriesof Justice and other (governmental) organisationsinvolved in the Rule of Law). The curriculumaddressed the deficiency of knowledge andpractical experience among potential EU memberstate candidates in the area of repositioningthe organisation of their judicial procedures onboth the organisational and policy fronts.MTEC Legislation – (senior civil servants,experts and policy makers) addressed the needto align national legislation with the ‘acquis communautaire,’in the target countries with a viewto capacity building within the respective governmentand government related organizations suchthat these units are better equipped to respondto policy and implementation issues.The T.M.C.
