Itis immersed in an electrolyte solution, and separated by a gas permeablemembrane from the sample of interest. An auxiliary guard ring electrodesurrounds the working electrode toshield against other gases and improvestability.

ORBISPHERE 313XX_TECHNICAL DATATechnical dataImproved accuracyElectrical potential is applied betweenthe electrodes to reduce ozonedriven through the membrane by apartial pressure gradient. An electricalcurrent results, that is proportionalin magnitude to the concentrationof interest. This is measured by theindicating instrument, scaled, displayedand converted to analogue and digitaloutputs. The ORBISPHERE 313XX can measureozone in a wide range of temperaturesand pressures. This is because ofits exclusive valve seating, wherethe sensor cathode is mechanicallytensioned against a ceramic valve seatto ensure the integrity of the seal. Thisdesign produces a small residual signalfor improved accuracy. All ORBISPHERE ozone sensors usethe deep-draw membrane mountingmethod. This provides a uniformly thinlayer of electrolyte, faster responseand superior stability. Coupled with ascrew-on protection cap, the sensorallows in-service intervals for up to ayear. ORBISPHERE sensors can becalibrated in air for ease of use andagainst a sample of known ozonecontent.SampleAnodeElectrolyteSensor headMembraneCathodeGuard ringApplication dependant membrane / Sensor specificationMembrane model 2956A 29552AMaterial PFA PTFEThickness 25 µm 50 µmDissolved O 3 measurement range 0 ppb–50 ppm 0 ppb–200 ppmGaseous O 3 measurement range 0 Pa–10 kPa 0 Pa–40 kPaAccuracydirect calibration: ±1% or ± 5ppb ±1% or ± 20ppb, whichever is greaterair calibration: ±5% or ± 5ppb ±5% or ± 20ppb, whichever is greaterRepeatability±1% (independent of calibration method)Lowest detection limit ±5 ppb ±20 ppbTemp. compensated range -5 to 45°C -5 to 45°CResponse time 30 sec. 6 min.Recommended liquid flow rate*, ml per min.,350 ml 100 mlin 32001 flow chamberRecommended linear liquid flow rate* cm/sec. 30 10Recommended gaseous flow rate 0.01 to 3 l/min. 0.01 to 3 l/min.Sensor modelStandard materials of constructionPressure rating Weight Recommended indicating instrumentHead**/Body***(bar)(grams)31311 PEEK / Delrin 20 200 ORBISPHERE 26505 (ROS)31331 Titanium / Stainless steel 100 640 ORBISPHERE 26506 (ROS)31330 Titanium / Stainless steel 100 640 ORBISPHERE 410 / 51031330E Titanium / Stainless steel 100 640 ORBISPHERE 366X EX31330S Titanium / Stainless steel 100 640 ORBISPHERE 410 / 510* Flow rates for Model 32001 flow chamber are valid for sensors used with a Model 29104 protection cap and without a stainless steel grill.
