Transmission and PowertrainiShiftThe A <strong>Series</strong> features a fully synchronised12F+12R transmission equipped withmechanical forward-reverse shuttle. Thetransmission has three ranges with four maingears in each range and includes creeper gears.Thanks to its straightforward design, theefficiency of the transmission and powertrainis exceptionally high.An important optional feature is the HiShiftbutton-operated clutch control, which allowsthe driver to operate the tractor without everhaving to use the clutch pedal. HiShift increasesdriver comfort by saving the effort of havingto depress the clutch pedal up to hundreds oftimes a day.The four-wheel-drive system is electrohydraulically activated, and four-wheel-brakingis automatically activated when braking orapplying the parking brake. The differential lockcan also be activated and deactivated at theflick of a switch.Electro hydraulic activation of the PTO isavailable as an option. EnginesValtra A <strong>Series</strong> tractors come with heavy-dutyturbocharged three and four-cylinder SisuDieselengines. These engines feature a specialcylinder centre support that increases strengthand reduces vibrations.A new feature of the engines is air-to-airintercooling, as well as a significantly morepowerful air cleaner. The engines alreadysurpass the Tier 3 emissions level.All engines feature Bosch fuel injection. Theinduction air is electrically preheated, whichensures clean emissions and good starting inall conditions.The performance of the engines has beenengineered for even the heaviest work. Thetorque spread is even and can be felt whenpulling.
