A quorum for any assemblymeeting of the Association shall consist of fifty voting members.Section 1. – Standing CommitteesArticle VICommitteesStanding Committees assist in the management of the Association’s affairs on acontinuing basis and are considered essential to the month-to-month operations of theAssociation. The formation or removal of these committees requires the approval of theBoard of Directors and their number may vary depending upon the needs of theorganization. The President and Master Gardener Coordinator are ex-officio membersof all Standing Committees, with the right to vote.Chairmen of Standing Committees shall be Certified Active Master Gardeners. Allmembers of committees must be members of the Association who shall serve for aperiod of one year, but may be reappointed for additional terms. Standing Committeesmay, on occasion, appoint ad hoc committees to assist them in their duties andfunctions.Each Standing Committee shall provide representation at any and all meetings of theBoard of Directors. Each committee is entitled to one vote and in the absence of theCommittee Chair, the vote may be cast by any designated member of the committee.Each committee is responsible for submitting a proposed budget during the preparationof the Association’s annual budget as well as maintaining a record of its activities.All committee meetings are open to students and members for the purpose ofobservation.Section 1(a). - Community Speaker CommitteeThe Community Speaker Committee consists of a Chair and as many speakers asneeded to perform its duties. The Committee Chair is responsible for coordinating allMaster Gardener speaking engagements and the solicitation of individuals to satisfyspeaking commitments. The committee shall maintain a speaking engagement record,which is to be submitted to the Master Gardener Coordinator at year end.Section 1(b). - Directory CommitteeThe Directory Committee consists of a Chair and as many members as needed toperform its duties. The committee is responsible for the preparation, printing, distributionand monthly updates of the Association’s membership directory.6
