The Three Kings Visit CiceroTown NewsHundreds of Cicero families gathered at Cicero Stadium on Saturday,January 5th to mark the arrival of the three wise men in Bethlehem tovisit the newborn baby Jesus.Families enjoyed the traditional “Rosca de Reyes” or “Three Kings Bread”,a sweet holiday bread with figurines of the baby Jesus baked into thebread.Traditionally, those who find the figurine in the bread will prepare aFeb. 5th brunch for their friends and family to celebrate the end of theholiday season. Those attending were also treated to free family photoswith the Three Kings and a special performance by the choir of St. Maryof Czestochowa.Cicero Town Officials join special service at Vida Abudante ChurchOn Wednesday, January 9, a New Year’s prayer service was held at Vida Abundante Church on south Austin in Cicero.Town President Larry Dominick and town officials joined Vida parishioners and other Cicero families to seek God’sblessings for the Town and for each other in the New Year. Dominick was invited to speak from the pulpit wherehe talked about the great strides the town is making to improve youth programming (starting with the opening ofthe new community center at 50th & Cermak) and the added resources he is devoting to combating gang crimein town. Special thanks to Vida’s youth pastor Ismael Vargas and senior pastor Andres Gallardo, as well as to TownCollector Fran Reitz who helped organize the special service and extend invitations town-wide.9
