2. Students <strong>in</strong> each corner read and discuss <strong>the</strong>ir favorite farm animal. Studentswill record facts about <strong>the</strong>ir favorite farm animal on an <strong>in</strong>dex card. As studentsare discuss<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ir animal, encourage <strong>the</strong>m to use proper grammar <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>irspeech and to practice conversation etiquette.3. Next, have students partner with ano<strong>the</strong>r animal group to compare and contrast<strong>the</strong>ir favorite farm animals. Use <strong>the</strong> hula hoops to create a Venn diagram.4. HUMAN GRAPHING - Bar Graphs: Have one student <strong>in</strong> each group hold thatgroup’s picture and <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>rs <strong>in</strong> that group form a l<strong>in</strong>e beh<strong>in</strong>d <strong>the</strong> person hold<strong>in</strong>g<strong>the</strong> picture. The last person <strong>in</strong> l<strong>in</strong>e will have his/her back aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>the</strong> wall; <strong>the</strong>o<strong>the</strong>r group members will l<strong>in</strong>e up one-by-one, fac<strong>in</strong>g away from <strong>the</strong> wall, with <strong>the</strong>person <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> front of <strong>the</strong> l<strong>in</strong>e hold<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> picture. Ask <strong>the</strong> class what graph <strong>the</strong>y have now formed: a l<strong>in</strong>e graph (a l<strong>in</strong>egraph represent<strong>in</strong>g quantities).
