The honor <strong>of</strong> representing <strong>Girl</strong> <strong>Scouts</strong>worldwide was just one <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Girl</strong> Scout experiences Caley says tops her list. Caley, who has DownSyndrome, exemplifies people with special needs, exceeding expectations and overcoming challenges.In <strong>2011</strong>, she earned the <strong>Girl</strong> Scout Gold Award — the highest award a <strong>Girl</strong> Scout can achieve.In addition to being a <strong>Girl</strong> Scout, Erica Nicole Hilliard takes honors classes, sings in theschool choir and plays bells in the ensemble. She, along with her mother and troop leader, ArmidaBrother, has been instrumental in strengthening the <strong>Girl</strong> Scout movement in the Hispanic communities<strong>of</strong> East <strong>Los</strong> <strong>Angeles</strong>. Erica, who is currently working on her Gold Award, aspires to work in public <strong>of</strong>ficeand credits <strong>Girl</strong> <strong>Scouts</strong> for the courage and confidence to follow her dreams.One <strong>of</strong> Bronwyn Adams-Cohen's favorite memories is <strong>of</strong> delivering <strong>Girl</strong> Scout Cookies to St.Vincent Meals on Wheels, and another is earning her Gold Award. Like many <strong>Girl</strong> <strong>Scouts</strong>, Bronwynunderstands the importance <strong>of</strong> giving back. For her 16th birthday, she asked family and friends to makea donation for the <strong>Girl</strong> <strong>Scouts</strong> 100th Anniversary Float instead <strong>of</strong> giving her birthday presents. At the<strong>2011</strong> Gold Award Ceremony, Bronwyn was presented her Gold Award, and afterward she presented thecouncil with a significant donation that helped GSGLA fund a float in the Tournament <strong>of</strong> Roses ® Parade.PG 5GSGLA MEMBERSHIP
