Majorrevisions and additions have been made to reflect the latest research findings and field experience. In particular,the new edition introduces new provisions for design of flat plates against punching shear, the use of FRP asconfining and longitudinal tension reinforcement in columns, the design of reinforced and pre-stressed concretemembers against combined moment, shear and torsion and the retrofit of building structures for enhancedductility and seismic resistance.
