Foundation Giving OpportunitiesDesignated Scholarship ProgramTo establish a designated fund, a donor makes contributions that must reach US$15,000 by the end of the third yearfollowing an initial minimum contribution of $3,000. While growing toward the $15,000 qualifying amount, investmentin<strong>com</strong>e accrues to the <strong>ISSA</strong> Foundation’s general fund. Once the fund reaches $15,000, investment in<strong>com</strong>e of thefoundation is distributed pro rata to the fund. If a pending fund does not achieve $15,000 within the required time or thebalance falls below $3,000, remaining funds are folded into the foundation general fund. Designated scholarship amountsshall be specified by the Designator or Alternate and awarded at least annually in an amount that is no less than theconcurrent <strong>ISSA</strong> District Scholarship Awards amount.General Scholarship ProgramDistrict scholarships in the amount of $3,000 are awarded from the foundation general fund. There are approximately 25district awards issued each year. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at a four-yearacademic institution in the fall of the award year.Scholarship Sponsor ProgramThe Scholarship Sponsor Program enables an <strong>ISSA</strong> member firm to sponsor a District Scholarship Award for a singledonation equal to the value of that scholarship. This means that if a member firm donates $3,000, the donor <strong>com</strong>pany mayselect a District Scholarship Award to be presented in its name. A scholarship in the name of your <strong>com</strong>pany may go a longway toward encouraging today’s young leaders to seek and appreciate a career in the cleaning and maintenance industry.Civic ProgramsThe <strong>ISSA</strong> Foundation works through alliances with charitable organizations such as AmeriCares to coordinate the effortsof <strong>ISSA</strong> members to help disaster relief victims. <strong>ISSA</strong>’s alliance with Good360 (formerly Gifts In Kind International), wasestablished in 1995.
