The <strong>Champion</strong> • Wednesday 27 June 2012Sefton flying flagfor Armed ForcesSFVisit us @ www.ChampNews.com • 27Mayor and Mayoress of Sefton, Cllrs Kevin and Linda Cluskey, show their supportfor Armed Forces Day.SEFTON is flying the flag for the armed forcesthis week with a host of special events.An exhibition to mark the Falklands 30thanniversary is already underway at SouthportTown Hall, with pictures and memorabilia ondisplay to the public until 4pm on Friday (June29).The Lord Street venue, along with BootleTown Hall, is also flying a special flagthroughout the week to mark this year’s ArmedForces Day.The annual day will take place on Saturday(June 30) this year and, as usual, is anopportunity for the nation to show support forthe men and women who make up the ArmedForces community.As part of the celebrations the Mayor andMayoress of Sefton, councillors Kevin andLinda Cluskey, will attend an Armed ForcesService on the day at Liverpool Cathedral,while an array of festivities will also take placein Southport.This Saturday, the resort’s Princes Park willplay host to a variety of attractions for all thefamily from 11am until 5.30pm as theSouthport Veterans Day Charity Carnival takesplaceVeterans Fund organisers are hoping theevent will be bigger and better than ever as itfeatures archery, armed forces and animaldisplay teams at the site, along with fairgroundrides, bouncy castles, face painting, a zip wireand assault course and more.Then at 1pm the carnival procession will setoff from Knowsley Road and parade along LordStreet, lead by the Royton ATC Band, as itraises money for charities along the way.The following day (July 1) the SouthportFalkland 30th Anniversary and British ArmedForces Day Parade will march through thetown centre, starting at 10am on Chapel Street,led by the Merseyside Cadet Band withmotorcyclists from the Royal British LegionRiders Branch.Worry-free meanseverything is included• Use your mobility allowance• Breakdown cover• Road tax• Insurance• Servicing and maintenance• Replacement tyres and windscreen• 60,000 mileage allowance• Specialist advicewww.motability.co.ukNot sure if you qualify for a Motability car?
