IOV ChairPerson, Ron Lee, added: "Chris hasbeen a great asset to theorganisation over the years, andwe believe that he will bring agreat deal to the committee inhelping us develop the qualificationsystem and the organisation ingeneral."Assessment ResultsThe Assessment Panel met on 2ndAugust 2005 when the followingqualifications were awarded:Corporate MembershipI.C.E. Ltd - Sean Griffiths(Kenilworth, Warwickshire)Two Dragons Ltd - Steve Carpenter(Leigh on Sea, Essex)Fellow MembershipPaul Russell F.Inst.V.(Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire)Mike Walker F.Inst.V.(Dewsbury, West Yorkshire)Master Membership(Fellowship recommendation)John Snelgrove M.M.Inst.V.(Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire)Master MembershipGeorge Fenney M.M.Inst.V.(Wolverhampton, West Midlands)Steven Salmon M.M.Inst.V.(Southampton, Hampshire)Congratulations to all those whoqualified. However, there areclearly still members out therewho have not thoroughly read andunderstood the new assessmentcriteria. When we say that thesubmitted work must be amaximum of 15 minutes - wemean it! This session we had oneapplication of 19-minutes,although on the application formthe duration of the work wasgiven as 16-minutes. Neither ofthese is 15 minutes! Also, do not submit work andask us only to watch the first 15minutes as the rest does notcount! The system does not worklike that, and you will get markeddown for it. There are also otheraspects included in these criteriawhich people are not payingattention to; make sure you do oryou will not pass the assessment!!!Kevin CookIOV Executive AdministratorPlease email kevin.cook@iov.co.uk toadd your name to the priority list. Finally, while I am still on mysoapbox, do not be tempted tosimply cut bits out of aprogramme to get it to the rightduration. The programme has toflow properly, which is not alwaysthe case when chunks arerandomly removed from it. Tryspending a bit more time to makeit watchable, or maybe you thinkyour IOV qualification is not worththe effort!Details of the assessmentcriteria are given in detail on theIOV website (About us/How toJoin/Assessment) or from IOVCentral Office - so there is noexcuse. The next cut-off date forassessments is 30 September2005. Any work not received bythat date will not be included in theOctober sitting – no exceptions, and you know I mean it!
