Through the A.A. program of study, thecollege offers the necessary prerequisite courses for more than200 <strong>State</strong> University System baccalaureate programs. As part of<strong>Florida</strong>’s public higher education system, college courses at NWF<strong>State</strong> <strong>College</strong> carry the same course numbers as those offeredat the state’s universities and are recognized as equivalent. Thus,the college credits earned at NWF <strong>State</strong> <strong>College</strong> transfer to meetupper-division prerequisite requirements and the A.A. degree isrecognized and welcomed in transfer to universities nationwide.Associate in Science, Certificates &Applied Technology Diplomas – Page 23 - 57National studies indicate that 8 out of every 10 jobs requiretraining beyond high school, but not necessarily a four yeardegree. The Associate in Science (A.S.) is a two-year careereducation degree that prepares students for direct entry intothe workforce. The A.S. degree is also fully transferable intomost NWFSC bachelor’s degree programs. All A.S. degreeshave companion certificates that may be used as a career pathtoward the A.S. degree.
