ThePresbyterian Church of England, in Northenden road,erected in 1874 at a cost of £"9,000, is of stone, and seats604 persons; there is a detached house for the minister.The Wesleyan chapel, Northenden road, erected in 1875at a cost of £8,000, will seat 600. The Wesley church,School road, builli in 1887 at a cost of £10,000, has 850sittings. The Wesleyan Mission Hall, in Chapel road,and attached to the Weslev church, waS' erected in 1890and is of brick, with sittings for 250. The PrimitiveMethodist chapel, in Xorthenden road, was built in 1873and seats 300. The l"nitarian chapel, in Chapel road, i!\now used only as a Sunday school; the nearest Unitarianchapel is at .1shton. There is a Salvation Army Hall inEgerton street. The cemetery, in Marsland road, consistingoriginally of about 6 acres, but augmented toabout 12 acres in 1877, and further extended in 1896, wasoriginally opened in 1'862, and contains a small church anda Nonconformist chapel; it is cont,rolled by a committeeof the Urban District <strong>Council</strong>.
