She finished 2012with an 18-15 record, a 2.08 ERA and 201 strikeouts in 209 innings pitched.• Last season, Pridmore set the San Jose State career record for saves (10). She currently rankssecond all-time in strikeouts (455) and fourth in wins (44).• Michelle Cox returns to the outfield after a freshman season in which she was a second teamAll-WAC honoree. Cox led the Spartans in batting average (.366), hits (60), triples (3) and stolenbases (26). Over the summer, Cox represented Australia at the World Cup of Softball.• Jessica Garcia returns as the team’s starting catcher. She ranked 23rd nationally with four sacrificeflies last season, and had a .255 batting average with 40 hits, 38 RBI and 27 runs scored.• Markesha Collins led the team with 40 runs scored as the leadoff hitter last season. The 34 wins tied for the third highest total in school history.• The 2010 team set 11 season records including batting average at .284, doubles with 88 andhome runs at 38.• Turner compiled a 99-30 record in four years at San Joaquin Delta College and led the team tothe 2005 league championship.• Turner currently is the head coach of the USA Softball Men’s National Team.• He is a member of the ASA National Softball Hall of Fame and a 10-time ASA All-American.• Turner has been selected to two other local halls of fame – Stockton (Calif.) Sports Hall of Fameand the Stockton Softball Hall of Fame.• Last year, 10 players were San Jose State Scholar Athletes and five were Academic All-WAChonorees.
