Our plan is responsive to a number ofexternal and internal changes around us andincorporates feedback from citizens and leadersthroughout <strong>York</strong> Region and our members. The 2010 Community Survey wasrandomly distributed to 10,000 households and includedquestions about police performance, policing prioritiesand perceptions of crime.The top policing priorities identified byrespondents are:1 Crimes Against Property2 Traffic Safety3 Crime Prevention Programs4 Guns and Gangs5 Drug Control and EnforcementSurveying Our <strong>Business</strong>es:<strong>York</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Police</strong> surveyed the businesses of<strong>York</strong> Region for their opinions on policing and crime.The 2009 <strong>Business</strong> Survey was randomly distributed to5,900 business owners.The top policing priorities identified by businessowners are:1 Increased police visibility especially on foot patrol2 More education and crime prevention programs3 Improved follow-ups to calls for service4 Faster response times<strong>York</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Police</strong> consults with its members in manyways on an ongoing basis.
