Theylecture, meaning <strong>the</strong>y stand infront of a classroom and <strong>the</strong>y talkabout information and sometimes<strong>the</strong>y write notes and informationon <strong>the</strong> board, on <strong>the</strong> whiteboardor on <strong>the</strong> blackboard. This iscalled lecturing.Typically, teachers teachformulas, rules, things to bememorized; facts, right? Thisis <strong>the</strong> normal way, <strong>the</strong> old wayreally, but it’s still <strong>the</strong> normalway of teaching. That’s whatteachers do. Number one, <strong>the</strong>ystand in front of a classroom and<strong>the</strong>y lecture. They talk and <strong>the</strong>ytalk and <strong>the</strong>y talk to <strong>the</strong> studentsand <strong>the</strong> students sit <strong>the</strong>re andlisten, listen, listen. Numbertwo, <strong>the</strong> teacher typically teachesformulas and facts, formulas andfacts and <strong>the</strong>y write <strong>the</strong>se formulasand facts on <strong>the</strong> board for <strong>the</strong>students, of course, to memorize.What’s ano<strong>the</strong>r thing thatteachers typically do, normallydo? Well, teachers normally givetests. Every week or every twoweeks, depends on <strong>the</strong> teacher,depends on <strong>the</strong> school, but <strong>the</strong>reare usually a lot of quizzes and alot of tests. So <strong>the</strong> teacher lectures,speaks about, a lot of factsand formulas. Then, later, <strong>the</strong>teacher tests <strong>the</strong> students to seeif <strong>the</strong>y have remembered <strong>the</strong>sefacts and <strong>the</strong>se formulas and<strong>the</strong>n, finally, at <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong>class or <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> course <strong>the</strong>teacher gives grades.
