Laura Byham-Gray, PhD, Associate Professor, Nutritional<br />
Sciences; Program Director, MS in Clinical Nutrition,<br />
has received the Joel D. Kopple Research Award<br />
from the National Kidney Foundation's Council on Renal<br />
Nutrition. The award honors individuals who have made<br />
significant contributions to the field of renal nutrition in<br />
the areas of legislation, clinical practice, education or<br />
research.<br />
Cara DeNunzio, BS, Instructor, Primary Care, has<br />
been nominated by Thesis Committee Chairperson, Dr.<br />
Shana Morrell, College of Health Sciences, Walden University<br />
for the Walden University Outstanding Thesis<br />
Award. The title of the thesis, ―Parental attitudes towards<br />
exposing children to environmental tobacco<br />
smoke.‖ The thesis classification is under Literature Review.<br />
Barbara Gladson, PhD, Professor, Rehabilitation and<br />
Movement Sciens; Director, Biopharma Education and<br />
Curriculum Development, has recently returned from<br />
Vienna, Austria, where she was chair of a conference on<br />
subject enrollment in clinical research entitled, ―Effective<br />
Patient Recruitment in Clinical Trials, Calibrating Your<br />

Commission on Dietetic Registration, the credentialing<br />
organization in the U.S. for Registered Dietitians. This is<br />
