IntroductionThe RoamAlert Securaband tag andstrap provide a robust physical barrierto unauthorized removal. Each tag isidentified by its own unique code. Thesystem generates an Exit alarm if the tagis brought near an exit protected by aDoor Controller. The Securaband <strong>Tag</strong>can be worn on an individual’s wristor ankle and is attached using Xmark’scut-resistant Securaband strap.Strap w/Clasp<strong>Tag</strong>Items Required• Securaband tag (804A2401),• Securaband sizing tool(804A1501),• Securaband strap (size determinedby measurement), and• Securaband removal tool(804A1401).Attaching the <strong>Tag</strong>Attach the tag as follows:1 To determine the strap size, wrapthe sizing tool around the resident’sInstructions for the Securaband <strong>Tag</strong>RemovalToolSizingToolNote: Measure carefully to ensure thatthe appropriate strap size is selected.Once the strap has been attached, itcannot be used again.2 Select the appropriate Securabandstrap from storage (the size is printedon the box as well as on the insideof the strap).3 Slide a Securaband tag onto the strap,making sure that both the <strong>ser</strong>ialnumber on the tag and the size stampon the strap are facing you.4 Position the strap around the resident’swrist or ankle and in<strong>ser</strong>t thefree end of the strap into the claspuntil it clicks into place.5 Discard the sizing tool (it may berecycled, but not used again).3While holding the tool handlestogether, pull the strap end out ofthe clasp.4 Slide the tag off the strap, clean andstore the tag, and discard the strap.Cleaning the <strong>Tag</strong>Follow these recommendations forcleaning the tag. Securaband straps aresingle-use and cannot be re-attached.• Use a mild soap and water toremove any apparent debris.• Disinfect tags by wiping with analcohol sanitizer or germicidalcleaner for 60 seconds. Use onlycleaners marked as safe for plastics.<strong>Tag</strong>s are incompatible with disinfectantscontaining Glycol Ether.• Dry with a soft, clean cloth.• Do not use an autoclave to cleantags or <strong>ser</strong>ious damage may result.StorageMeasuring Barwrist or ankle, making sure that theRoamAlert logo is facing you. Thestrap size is the first number to theright of the measuring bar (in thisexample, size 10).Removing the <strong>Tag</strong>Remove the tag as follows:1 Place the removal tool over the clasp,making sure that the chevron on theclasp and the lanyard ring on the toolare facing in the same direction.2 Squeeze the tool handles together tounlock the clasp.Store tags in a <strong>Tag</strong> Rack (AGETR01-000)at room temperature.
