In the second method of plant<strong>in</strong>g, the stakes were positioned at about one and ahalf meter away from a <strong>rubber</strong> tree on the same side (Fig. 2). S<strong>in</strong>ce harvest<strong>in</strong>g ofmature <strong>rattan</strong> is cumbersome and needs lot of space, only alternate rows wereplanted with <strong>rattan</strong>.
