WelcomeWe would like to say a big welcome toall our new children, parents and carersthat have started with us this Autumn.First AidDuring September any member of staffwho did not have paediatric first aidtook part in the training. This nowmeans that every member ofChatterbox staff is now a fullyqualified paediatric first aider.StaffingBridgette has now left to have herbaby and we will keep you posted onany developments as they happen.Hannah has joined our babydepartment as baby room supervisor.She comes with several yearsexperience and a Degree in childcare.We have also been joined by Kat inour pre-school department who willjoin Shar and the rest of the team.Most of you will have met ourapprentice Emma who is currentlystudying her level 3 in childcare.Cold WeatherWhile the weather is cold please makesure your child has suitable clothinge.g. coat, scarf, gloves and hat. It isgood for child’s development for themto continue to access the outside spacein all weathers.If you have any concerns about thisthen please feel free to discuss it with amember of staff.ClothingPlease could we ask you to return anyitems of clothing that you may haveborrowed from the nursery as ourstocks are getting low, especiallyunderwear and socks.Planning For Your ChildsDevelopmentPlease take time to have a look at ournew planning boards in both baby andpre-school departments. They will keepyou informed of the activities andexperiences available to your childevery day.Juice DrinksCan we please remind parents andcarers that the nursery provides waterand milk throughout the day. Wewould prefer it if the children did notbring juice drinks into the nursery asresearch shows this contributes to toothdecay.Payment of FeesWe would like to remind all parentsthat all sessions must be paid forwhether your child attends or not. Thisincludes holidays and sickness.

Youmust drop off and pick up on time aswe stick to strict staff ratios. Its canalso be very stressful for your child ifyou do not collect them on time. Wewould however like to say a big thankyou to all those parents / carers who dostick to their session times.Parents/Carers MeetingsWe will be holding parents/carersmeetings over a two week periodstarting Monday 26 th November. Thesecan take place at the start or end ofyour session. Alternatively you canarrange for a time to suit you. You arewelcome to bring someone with you allare welcome, Grandma, Granddad,Auntie, Uncle, Friends etc. Thesemeetings are to discuss your Childsachievements and progress. Theyprovide an ideal opportunity for you toask any questions and to shareinformation from home. You will begiven a reply slip shortly, for you toindicate your preferred time slot.Choke TubesChoke tubes are designed to representthe size of your child’s airways. So ifyou can fit an object into the tube itmeans it could be a potential chokehazard to a child.
